Well you can confirm in HD it is a nasty looking green color it is probably from space or some experiment by the government.

Good point Alex, it does seem like it could be a under sea creature in looks and also in the poster you can see how something had moved the water.

Oddly enough, when you pause the trailer at 1:12 the two monsters kinda look like bears you can see claws and the way their legs are shaped. But that seems really odd…

i don't think the whole movie is blair witch style. go to bloody-digusting.com and they have 19 screenshot from the movie. some pretty good ones too.

Should stop the video at 1:29 !
Don't you see some big monster walking through a building? !!!

Blair Witch project style and Godzilla is a good idea ….
In the trailer you can see the shadow of a small creature ( Human size ) who eat or kill a human being …I think it is not the same creature who cut the head of Statue of Liberty and throw it in the middle of the city because he is so small to do such a think …that mean there is more than one creature …
We can say Godzilla and his children

You guys have it all wrong! Watch the part where you think monsters are attacking the woman. Its actually poeple in contamination type of suits walking a lady who actually appears to blow up she gets real fat and you hear a odd noise like she is exploding!

Huge green thing that comes from the sea? I'm rootin' for Cthulu.

I think the smaller creature we see in silhouette, is clearly a bear. I'm guessing that with all the destruction that occurs in the area 'formerly known as Central Park,' the zoo was as well destroyed and in some scenes some animals with a potential for being deadly must as well be dealt with…

I'm sure it's GODZILLA!) It was my primae impressionis, and i think so far!)

It's Gamera. The little flitty-flappy noises come from the two twin fairies who will sing thru the credits.
The End.

Alex LexUS, It is 100% not Godzilla. How pathetic do you think that would be?!?!?!?! J.J. Abrams would not do a remake of Godzilla, he likes to produce more original ideas instead of using someone else's work. Trust me, it's a whole new idea!!

Godzilla and Gamera seem likely candidates. Still not convinced it's C'thulhu, though.
What about a re-make of "The Host"? Isn't there supposed to be an American re-make in the works?

how is it no one seems to see or hear the similarities of the sounds between this so called 'monster' and the so called 'monster' from the show Lost? those sounds they hear at the end of this trailer are just like the ones they hear on Lost right before whatever the 'thing' is shows up, I'm really likin the chances of this bein a Lost movie, one that people who have never even seen Lost to still be able to really enjoy and understand and eventually lead them all to the dvd's of Lost, brilliant!

It is definitely 2 people in contamination suits carrying the woman away somewhere……they very easily could have just ADDED in those weird noises and it may have nohting to do with what was going on in that shot…..just to confuse you……

it is 2 people in contamination suits, if u pause it at 1:11 or 1:12 theres a guy on the desk calmly sittin down, it ain't no bear or godzilla, thats stupid

Look at 1:47.
You can see the monster. It's crossing the road and pulling some kind of cart behind it. A death cart i believe.
Movie looks rad. War-of-the-worlds rad.

Hiya,
It can't be Cthulu. I would hope that even Abrams is smart enough to know any Lovecraft mythos monster, would never rampage through a city. The would have driven you insane before.
Bad form for that mythos.
I hope it's original, maybe a take on "Leviathan", a good biblical monster that hasn't been used much.

Okay…during the shot with the two people in Chem suits you hear a funny sound…Something was ripping out of the person they were with…in the subway tunnel you hear another sound close to the sound used in "The Cave" by those creatures, it was like ekolocation…There are alot of rumors saying this is not a remake of Godzilla, but a continuation…So with this movie think of Godzilla meets Alien meets The Cave meets Blair Witch, its going to be a must see!

Stop it at 1:43. You see a crazy blue still for like a split second. I'm pretty sure it's some government experiment story or else the wouldn't have shown the part with the guys in chem suits and the expanding girl.

Well from what I understand the monster is known as Cthulhu. It is a mix between a squid and something else. It is green, has wings, claws, and a squid head. and that thing about the women mutating or whatever, well the cthulhu has folowers called Cthulhi, they have a physical simility with Cthulhu himself, but are of far smaller size. So in the movie, i'm guessing cthulhu mutates people into his followers. thus for making cthulhu a parasite. If u want to read up on cthulhu then visit this website http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cthulhu.

ok the thing that gets me the most is the soldier whos's face is pixalated can someone explain that why is he hidden like that enough of the monster figure that out and you might figure out the movie.

…Does nobody think it's weird that the statue of liberty's head EXPLODES off? Correct me if I'm wrong, but your usual giant monster wouldn't normally blow up a statue. So either the guys who worked on that scene got a little showy, or this monster is mechanical. I myself am all for the bear thing though. But see, they aren't your ordinary bears. These ones have gained access to bullet-proof vests. Dun dun dun……What does this mean exactly? It means the movie is meant to show just who is at the top of the food chain.

rolf….go to google.com and go to images type in "colverfield monster" then it will come up with
a laviation is my idea….when you look at the picture it has a whale body and a whale tail…also has parasites like a whale =P
and it could has "tenticle" arms that hold it up =P it could have grabbed onto the statue of liberty's head then it broke of the stature and it chucked it toward the city
