Martin Scorsese Directs Hitchcock's The Key to Reserva

I'm not too keen on the idea of helping out this wine company and promoting them, but this advertisement sold me and I just can't resist mentioning it, even for the fun of it. I'll key you in on it early: it's a joke and it's an advertisement for champagne. The concept is that Martin Scorsese (of The Departed) wants to pay tribute and make a short film out of three pages of an Alfred Hitchcock script that they found in some archives. The film is titled The Key to Reserva and actually is pretty entertaining. You might want to watch this just to kill 10 minutes of time, as it's quite worth it.
The film comes from ScorseseFilmFreixenet.com, where you can watch it there and submit your own opinion. I was quite impressed with the short 3 minute film, which starts about halfway through. It has such a great Hitchcock feel and is really just fun to watch. Check it out:
Please be patient and let the movie load. The file is 40MB in size.
What did you think? Doesn't it have that Hitchcock feel and some funny moments? Despite this is all just an advertisement, at least Scorsese did a good job! And thanks Zach Dillon for sending this in.

Glad you posted it. I didn't know if you would, since it's an ad, but I just thought it was a lot of fun and that more people should see it. I bet Scorsese had a blast doing that.

That was fantastic! So glad you posted it. Not sure if I would have seen it otherwise.

That was great, did anybody else get the sense that Scorsese is slipping into madness though?

I don't necessarily think that he is slipping into madness. I think that he was just acting.

loved the imagery with the wine bottle at the end…great play on Hitchcock's less than subtle sexual imagery. That is how Hitchcock would have filmed a wine commercial.

Fantastic work. The mellow movements of the of the man moving along the steps and carefully treading lightly and he placed the box down on the seat.
Great tribute to Hitchcock.
No one could have done this better than Marty Scorcese.
