FightCast - Round 3: Holiday Spectacular - Five Movie Fight
December 24, 2007
In this week’s FightCast, we fight about five of this Holiday's biggest movies: I Am Legend, Walk Hard, National Treasure: Book of Secrets, Sweeney Todd, and Juno. We both had a lot of catching up to do and decided to talk about a bunch of the big films that are playing this week. I Am Legend is the Will Smith action flick that opened last week. Walk Hard is the Judd Apatow musical comedy starring John C. Reilly. National Treasure: Book of Secrets is the sequel to the first National Treasure and brings back Nic Cage yet again. Sweeney Todd stars Johnny Depp in a dark musical directed by Tim Burton. Juno is Jason Reitman's independent comedy hit. Definitely a great line-up for this weeks FightCast - so check it out!
If you're looking for high production value, look elsewhere. This isn't even a show, it's a conversation between two film geeks. The official website has launched - and for all future episodes and to subscribe to the podcast, head right to: FilmFightCast.com!

Peter relies a little too much on "That's what the critics said or that's how the audience reacted!"

there is no tim burton cult, thats just silly. he is a mad genious who is adored by millions of gothy and emo kids around the world. but they would never form an unstopable organization bent on hunting down those who would go against him…. im guessing…
now if youlll excuse me i have to finish the skunk stripe in my hair, pick up my leather vest from the dry cleaners, and grab my new straight razor.
where do you live again??

Much better than fight cast 2. I think addressing more movies with a shorter time on each, is a better formula. I think I agree more with Alex and his arguements since he seems to base them on the movie itself rather than what other critics or those around him thought. My own thoughts? — I am Legend was very entertaining and kinda shooky while I was in the theater but falls apart after you walk out and put some thought into it. Walk Hard just doesn't seem to be my kind of movie so I will wait for the DVD. National Treasure 2 was just lame. it wasn't exciting, it seemed that they went to places just to have a landmark in the background and there was never any 'real' sense of danger. oh, and the acting sucked… I want to see Juno and Sweeney but to be honest I will likely go see aliens vs predator 2 first. - ralph

I really like the FightCast more than I expected to. The previous podcast often got on my nerves due to Alex's crazy opinions, but now there's someone around to smack him back to reality. Awesome!
