As has been mentioned before, the awards season is in full swing and everyone's top ten lists are being published. However, figuring out what the real best of the best is isn't up the Academy or the critics alone, it's also up to the public. That's why Peter at SlashFilm published The Definitive Top 25 Movies of 2007, which calculates the best of the best by using both the IMDb ratings and the Rotten Tomatoes scores. Considering how his calculations were made, I'm going to have to agree with him and say that this truly is the definitive list. It includes consideration from every critic (on Rotten Tomatoes) as well as thousands of voting public on IMDb. So what are the definitive top 25 movies of 2007?
1. There Will Be Blood
2. The King Of Kong: A Fistful of Quarters
3. Ratatouille
4. Persepolis
5. In the Shadow of the Moon
6. Juno
7. Sicko
8. Once
9. The Bourne Ultimatum
10. No Country For Old Men
11. The Diving Bell and the Butterfly
12. Enchanted
13. Gone Baby Gone
14. Away from Her
15. This is England
16. The Savages
17. Control
18. Hot Fuzz
19. Hairspray
20. 3:10 to Yuma
21. Rescue Dawn
22. Zodiac
23. Superbad
24. Knocked Up
25. Michael Clayton
Now THIS is a real best of 2007 list! They hit everything great, from Superbad to Once to Hairspray to Hot Fuzz to Gone Baby Gone. Now I'm sure you're that much more encouraged to catch one of these midnight sneak previews of There Will Be Blood. Considering both the opinion of the public and all critics, There Will Be Blood still reigns supreme.
Head over to SlashFilm to read more about the list and how it was formed. This is when I say that everyone should make their best effort to see as many of those 25 listed above, if they haven't already seen all of them. 2007 wasn't a bad year, and if you want some proof, just look at that list above and you'll understand.

LMAO at the guy who's surprised Transformers isn't on here. Sure, it was popcorn entertainment…but one of the best 25 MOVIES of the year? No. It doesn't even smell the top 25.
And there is NO WAY IN HELL that No Country For Old Men should be number 10. Most of us have yet to see There Will Be Blood, and I think it has the possibility to be better, but nothing else on this list touches No Country.
I'm puzzled as well by the absent Atonement. And Superbad a better movie than Knocked up? Nope.
