Another Comic Book Adaptation: Whiteout with Beckinsale
by Alex Billington
February 1, 2007
After a great performance in a dramatic role in Snow Angels at Sundance, Kate Beckinsale is back to her normal roles, this time a comic book adaptation called Whiteout. She's not officially signed - only in talks at the moment to star.
Whiteout is a black and white graphic novel created in 1998 by writer Greg Rucka and artist Steve Lieber. It follows U.S. Marshal Carrie Stetko as she uncovers the first murder ever in the Antarctic just as the sun is about to set for six months. She must catch the killer before he leaves or be stuck there with him in the dark alone for six months.
Whiteout is to be directed by Dominic Sena, who previously directed Swordfish and Gone in Sixty Seconds. If I can throw in my 2¢, I think this sounds pretty awesome. Go for it Kate!
