Casting: Goodman and Sarandon in Speed Racer; Luke Goss in Hellboy 2

The only major news today is a few brief casting updates for both Speed Racer and Hellboy 2, both very highly anticipated movies coming in 2008.

In The Wachowski Brothers' Speed Racer, the well known John Goodman and Susan Sarandon are in talks to play the parents of Emile Hirsch, who plays Speed.

In Guillermo del Toro's Hellboy 2: The Golden Army, little known actor Luke Goss, who played the supervampire in del Toro's Blade 2, has been cast, but as to what or who exactly, that is yet unknown.

Good choices all around for two movies I am very much looking forward to. I don't know how well Goodman will fit into Speed Racer, but I'm usually fond of his roles, so I think he'll do a good job. And as for Hellboy 2, anyone he casts I know is the right choice. Guillermo del Toro is a genius and he knows how to make damn good movies, even somewhat Blade 2.
