Independent Spirit Awards Winners Announced

by
February 25, 2007

Yet another set of awards that stand in the shadow of the Oscars (which will be firing up in just a few hours), the Independent Spirit Awards are an annual award given in the name of independent film, featuring those little indies which deserve the honor and recognition that they won't be receiving at the Oscars. In its 22nd year, the Independent Spirit Awards have chosen Little Miss Sunshine as the winner of Best Feature, and Half Nelson coming in close with a good amount of wins, too. Read on for the rest of the winners (and the complete nominations list).

I encourage you to check these movies out, and head out to Blockbuster or Netflix and rent a copy. I've provided IMDb links for all of them for reference. Independent films are an integral part of this film industry and many of these are amazing movies worth being seen, so support them!
