Jason Statham in Death Race 3000?

Just early last week we brought you the news that Paul W.S. Anderson would be focusing on a remake of the 1975 Sylvester Stallone film Death Race 2000 called of course Death Race 3000. A scoop from Latino Review just a few days ago revealed that its possible the British action regular Jason Statham may star. The remake will apparently take place in 2020 and for those that don't know the movie features a series of race car drivers who compete in a violent race using heavily armored cars. Statham has never worked with Anderson yet, but I could certainly enjoy seeing him in this remake.
