Kevin Spacey Back for Superman: Man of Steel
After following the Bryan Singer Mayor of Castro Street vs Superman Returns sequel filming debacle online for the past few days, some official confirmation comes out and it also includes a juicy casting announcement. First up is that Kevin Spacey will be returning as Lex Luthor again in the sequel now titled Superman: Man of Steel. The announcement also confirms that due to Spacey's busy schedule and the plans laid out by studios, Superman: Man of Steel will film after Bryan Singer completes The Mayor of Castro Street.
Despite that confirmation, like our previous news states, that does NOT mean Superman: Man of Steel is delayed. It's still aiming for a 2009 release and will start filming sometime in mid to late-2008. The screenplay for the sequel is being written again by Superman Returns screenwriter Michael Dougherty.
Spacey has also joined the film Telstar, Nick Moran's film version of Moran and James Hicks' 2005 darkly comic West End play about the flamboyant '60s record mogul Joe Meek.
