Matthew Fox is Racer X in Speed Racer

Finally, the news is out. That guy who played the most emotional and down-to-earth coach in the movie no one saw, We Are Marshall, is going to be playing Speed Racer's arch-rival Racer X! Matthew Fox, who's also known for his role as Jack Shephard on Lost, will be taking on one of the last major roles to be announced, along side of Emile Hirsch as Speed and Christina Ricci as Trixie.

I think this has become one of the most skeptical big movies under development for next summer. The idea of a live action Speed Racer movie is fantastic, and putting The Wachowski Brothers on it, even incredible, but the biggest bump-in-the-road is the idea that it'll be rated G. Can the Wachowski's make a G-rated movie and still put it off with as much excellence as they did with The Matrix? I am a believer that it'll be the best family movie we'll ever see, but we have yet to tell. So far the cast does look pretty damn good.
