Rainn Wilson To Star As A Failed Drummer in The Rocker

One of everyone's favorite actors from The Office, Rainn Wilson, has picked up a lead role in another film called The Rocker, this time a comedy (unlike The Last Mimzy) for Fox Atomic. The basic story is that Rainn will star as a failed drummer who gets a second shot at fame.
The script was originally written by Ryan Jaffe and re-written by Wally Wolodarsky (who's written a few episodes of The Simpsons) and Maya Forbes (a re-write doesn't sound like a good start). The character it focuses on is a modern day Pete Best, the guy who dropped out of the Beatles before the band became globally famous. It's to be directed by Peter Cattaneo (of 1997's The Full Monty) and is currently set to start filming in June, so look for it in early 2008!
