Remake of Cache Possibly Being Helmed by Ron Howard
by Alex Billington
February 17, 2007
From the typically trustworthy Variety comes a piece about the possibility that Ron Howard (yes, A Beautiful Mind's director) may make an American version of the French thriller Cache for Universal. Well known producer Brian Grazer is set to produce and the deal is not yet signed but Ron Howard is likely to direct. As expected, the American version is supposed to be a bit more suspenseful. The original Cache came out just in 2005 and was directed by Michael Haneke.
An interesting twist to see a guy like Ron Howard who typically takes on enormous projects do a thriller/horror remake, especially one so beloved as Cache!
