Live Free or Die Hard Buzz Report

I'm introducing a new article series called The Buzz Report which looks at the hype and buzz from real people themselves. What better way to test the buzz than by going to the movie theaters and gauging reactions when you question the audience and when certain trailers roll. Only FirstShowing.net brings you this connection between the viewers and Hollywood. This will be the most realistic and resourceful method of determining which movies have the most buzz, and which will do well in the upcoming summer months, so pay attention!

This week we start off with the crowd of the midnight shows of Spider-Man 3!

This Week's Biggest Buzz Winner:
Live Free or Die Hard
Talking to the audiences in three different theaters, whenever we'd mention our schedule of upcoming events, starting with Pirates of the Caribbean 3, Transformers, and Die Hard 4, Die Hard would get the loudest cheers that echoed through the auditorium. It wasn't a few hoots, it was a huge roar when we said Die Hard. It wins this week's biggest buzz because it had the most cheers out of any other movie we mentioned this summer, and when that happens, you know it's got a whole lot of good buzz building. Congrats Die Hard, let's just hope your PG-13 rating doesn't kill that buzz swiftly.

Trailer Reports:
Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End
During the trailers at a movie night like Spider-Man 3, the audience always cheers loudly for the good ones. With Pirates of the Caribbean 3, it had the most cheers at the end of its trailer than any of the others shown. It started off with a few hollers by girls for Johnny Depp, but by the end the whole audience was smiling and cheering. I already know this one is going to have an incredible opening, and it was a tough competition up against Die Hard last night for the most buzz.

Fantastic Four: Rise of The Silver Surfer
The new trailer showed and interestingly, it had a lot of cheers! I'm guessing part of it was the fact that we had a comic book crowd already, and that the Silver Surfer is actually a good comic book character that a lot of people are looking forward to, so combine that with a well edited, exciting trailer, and you've got a lot of cheering and a lot of buzz. Let's hope this converts to a damn good opening day for a film that will probably be pretty bad.

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix
Half of the crowd hated Harry Potter, but the other half were so loud, that it just about made up for those who didn't. Another incredible trailer means that (at least some of) the audience is much more into it by the end of it, and the cheering for this was pretty strong given not everyone there likes Harry Potter. It's good to see the expansive range of the audience for this movie, as the target audience who will be seeing this on opening weekend were definitely not at Spider-Man.

Spider-Man 3's Buzz:
Venom & Carnage
This one is a bit obvious, but when we asked the crowd quickly who from the audience liked Sandman, Green Goblin 2, Peter Parker, Venom, or Carnage, the biggest reactions were for Venom first and Carnage second. It's already been "documented" that Venom and the black suit were one of the biggest draws for people to really get excited for this on opening weekend. It was just confirmed by the audiences last night when there were no cheers and boos for Sandman and Green Goblin 2, but immense cheers for Venom and Carnage.

Tune in again soon for another Buzz Report from FirstShowing.net!

Ya I think if they do a 4th they should have Carnage and Venom team up.
