Transformers Trilogy Already Approved by Studio Execs

Transformers hype is building more and more, with just a little over a month left until it finally hits theaters on July 4th. This latest bit of news is interestingly not even related to Transformers, at least the first movie. Two sequels, to make a full trilogy, have been mentioned briefly before (including that Megan Fox is already returning), but a short report from the British website Digital Spy states that that both sequels have been given early approval from the execs at DreamWorks.
With the ever building buzz getting even greater as release date nears, I think the execs are as excited as all of the fans and have already made this decision very early on. Only if the film vastly under-performs at the box office would they maybe reconsider giving the full go-ahead. The only other thing to consider is whether it was made early enough (perhaps, last year) for Michael Bay to work it into the script and the movie without making it look too much like an "added after the fact" thing. For now, we'll still call this a rumor until we hear official confirmation from the studio, which probably won't arrive until after opening weekend.
As fans, we'll all discover whether a trilogy will be worth it when Transformers finally hits theaters on July 4th!
