Worth Watching - Feb 10: Fracture Trailer with Anthony Hopkins

February 10, 2007

This one just creeps me out. How the heck does Anthony Hopkins do it?! And in honor of the newest Hannibal movie that came out just yesterday, I'm definitely suggesting you check out this new trailer. Even from the movie he wrote and directed himself, Slipstream, to almost all of his roles, Hopkins can make a truly creepy character. I really want to hear some feedback on this one if anyone's got a moment to watch it and write a comment!

Fracture is directed by Gregory Hoblit and also stars Ryan Gosling, David Strathairn and Rosamund Pike. It's currently set to open April 27th.

As I was watching this I was kind of thinking that it seemed similar to Primal Fear. Then I realized that Hoblit made both. Movie looks well made (production wise) but I fear that the trailer gives too much away. Hopkins looks solid as usual I'm not totally sold on Gosling as a leading man quite yet.

Hi! I agree...how does Hopkins do it? haha...it seems like a understated and brilliant performance. Ryan seems okay, Hopkins will completely overshadow the poor boy. He is creepy in Slipstream? I cant wait to see that movie too, didnt know his character was creepy though.
  • Well, he's not exactly creepy more than the movie itself is just twisted as hell. His character has these dual states of mind, and he just keeps going around being completely as confused as the audience cause he world keeps slipping (get it) back and forth between them. I wouldn't call it creepy, I'd call it just wierd and twisted and even mesmerizing - that fits Hopkins yea?

Oh, I see.... haha...I didn't expect a film like that from Hopkins but yea it does fit him!
