Teeth Trailer

I've been talking Teeth since I caught the world premiere at Sundance in January and was raving about this new cult classic in the making (read my review). The problem is this trailer is awful! This movie is way more comedic than it is scary and way more lighthearted (sort of) than the trailer makes it out to be (at least). And what the heck is with the rose as the title background?! I mean, women connect with this movie a lot more, but it is partially horror and they need to market it to everyone! Either way, you need to check this out. Need I remind you what it's about? Here's a hint: genital dentata.

Lionsgate sold the rights sometime this year and now Roadside Attractions is putting it out in theaters around February of next year. This trailer comes courtesy of IGN, but I hope another (better) one comes around soon.

Teeth is both written and directed by indie filmmaker Mitchell Lichtenstein (2004's Resurrection). Jess Weixler, who stars as Dawn in the film, won the Sundance Special Jury Prize for Acting ("For a juicy and jaw-dropping performance"), another noteworthy accolade for this flick. Teeth arrives in theaters next year in February, 2008. The poster for the film is featured below.

" And what the heck is with the rose as the title background?!" The symbolism is pretty obvious: flowers are a plant's sexual organs...
  • Poster is kinda quirky but I think it is too hard to market, and as a horror it is really the only way for it to happen.

well, it had to happen eventually...no more comic books to steal ideas from so now the move plots come from old jokles that werent even funny when they were new...might have a market with the 9 and under crowd though...if this actually sells, then I will send in a script about a talking penis with little arms that exhibits psychotic behaviour...give us a break....

I bet this flick would be worth sinking my teeth into! I'm there!

This is so completely ridiculous that it may actually be kind of funny to see. I do like Jorda's idea about the psychotic penis, though. If this does sell, Jordan, get with me on this - we could collaborate and make a million!
  • Wait! Does that mean that when she has sex the guys thing gets choped off?

This is going to be the best movie ever. EVER.

wow that looks totally gay. but i guess that would be the only time where the back door is A-OK

this is not a new joke. genital dentata appears in aboriginal myths and legends (Egyptian, Indo-European, Greek, Native American, African), as well as in contemporary narratives. I am sure it will appeal to a big enough group to appreciate it.

The rose on the front is pretty simple... every rose has its thorns.... shes a rose she has thorns

It's a sociological narrative symbolizing the empowerment of women by way of sex. [They] will overcome that 'dagger', that 'weapon', that intrusive symbol of dominance by way of a hidden, yet vicious mechanism of power. It's sociological BS - but what sociological concept isn't; outside of the origins of its existence, that is.
