Investigative Interviews About the Zodiac Killer
January 5, 2008
by Alex Billington
David Fincher's Zodiac has become one of the lost movies of 2007. It's not ending up on too many best of the year lists nor is it getting too much awards acclaim, all which it certainly deserves. But through all of this, we won't let it be forgotten here on FS.net! If only the following promotional material could've been available last March when it came out in theaters, it might've helped it get a much stronger theatrical run. But alas, almost a year later, we finally have some exciting featurettes from the film and interviews about the Zodiac killer. ZodiacMovie.com has published a couple of exclusive interviews with investigators that are incredibly intriguing to watch, and I've posted my favorite below about geographical profiling.
The following is a video interview with Dr. Kim Rossmo, a research professor in the Department of Criminal Justice at Texas State University. He talks at length about the concept of geographic profiling, which was his PhD study, and his results in regards to the Zodiac killer. If you were at all caught up in the story of Zodiac, then these videos are a must watch. The one below is my favorite, but there are two others as well.
Head over to ZodiacMovie.com to watch the other videos for free, which can only be seen at that site. There is an awesome one about linguistics analysis and another one about behavioral profiling. It's really a shame that this wasn't published when the film was being released - I think it would have really helped with the marketing. And if you haven't already seen it by now, then go out and watch Zodiac right away!

Zodiac was my favorite film of 2007, so its disappointing to see it almost entirely ignored by end of year critics and awards.
However, according to the LA Times, the studio is making a last minute Oscar push for the flick:

(I take that back about it missing critics lists… but it has missed end of year buzz anyway)
