Heading Out to CES!
January 6, 2008
by Alex Billington
I just thought I'd put up a courtesy post letting everyone know I'll be out in Las Vegas attending CES (the Consumer Electronics Show) until Friday this week. I'm flying out there this morning and will be battling the gigantic crowds and fighting for free swag all week long. I'm not there for any FirstShowing.net coverage, but will still be providing the regular updates on the site. You won't hear much from me about the show, unless I run into an occasional gem, like last year's Simpsons Movie cell phones (that were never actually made) or the Spider-Man 3 clip. But in the meantime we're bringing on another writer, who I'll introduce in the next few days, to help us keep up with the regular news.
CES is actually a great experience and is fun for those of you who love electronics, computers, or are just a big geek. It's the biggest convention in America and the only drawback is the number of people who swarm the streets. But it's Vegas and you get to enjoy the pleasures of the sin city, especially when they're being paid for by companies who want you to buy their products! One thing I have heard - Jon Favreau will be at the LG Electronics booth on Monday, so there might be some Iron Man exclusives, so pay attention.
If you're in Vegas or also attending CES, shoot me an e-mail and let me know. I might be able to get you into some parties or at least will try and party with you! And right after I return home from CES I gear up for Sundance - which I couldn't be more excited for! Get ready for an awesome January!
