Meet Our Newest Writer: Eli Bildner
January 8, 2008
by Alex Billington
Here at FirstShowing.net, I've always wanted to try to provide an environment where all kinds of different people will enjoy what we have to offer. We also want a place where numerous voices can be heard, not just one, and thus we've slowly begun adding a few new writers over the last year. You have probably noticed Ken Evans and Jaq Greenspon, but now it's time to bring on at least one more. His name is Eli Bildner and he'll be contributing often with more of the content you all love to read. So let's give him a warm welcome to the FirstShowing.net community. Below he's written an introduction and listed a few of his favorites so that you can hopefully get to know him a little bit better.
Hi, I'm Eli Bildner and I hail from Phoenix, Arizona but I now reside in Los Angeles, although I'm still a Phoenix Suns fan. I've always enjoyed watching movies and am always interested as to why they do what in certain scenes and the backstories behind movies that have become legends. When DVD's began to come out with the special features section I think I was more excited than anybody.
I first found FirstShowing.net scouring the web for movie related info especially on movies that weren't coming out for a while. Lucky for me, I stumbled on FirstShowing and immediately had a new favorite at the top of my bookmarks. Soon enough, I began checking FirstShowing more than my email. I really enjoyed the youthful tone and felt like the stuff I was reading could be from one of my friends or me. So, I took a shot and contacted Alex, and here we are. I'm really excited to join the team and begin writing.
You can find all of Eli's posts at this link.

Nicole Kidman? Seriously? Movie list is ok, directors great, actors mostly good but then this…. suspect, very suspect. After Moulin Rouge its been a very steep downhill slide for her. And even Moulin Rouge saw her in overacting fits. Thank goodness for Ewan McGregor, Baz Lurhman and an incredible supporting cast.

Hi Eli! I can't believe I came across this article! You might not remember me, but in BBYO we planned a (god-awful) regional event together. You really made my year better, and I hope you are doing well. You seem like you are! I still have "White Noise," which you sent me, by the way. Thank you, and good luck with your new awesome job.
