Not a big fan of Star Trek what so ever, but i have been curious about this film for a while now and thinking about seeing it when it comes out, long while yet though so i have a bunch of time to think about it, one of the reason that makes me want to go see it is because its directed by J.J. Abram's and he is a very gifted director, looking forward to seeing the trailer.

I'm an old school Trek fan, and I must say that I think that Abrams is going to do this one up right.
People like him and Zack Snyder really know how to build buzz and hype and I'm going along for the ride.

I guess I'm a Trekker at heart (though not the dress in a Starfleet uniform kind of fan).

The teaser was a mix, really. The welding shots looked a bit odd, particularly in the absence of spacesuited workmen, but the shot of the Enterprise and Nimoy's words created a real buzz - and the Star Trek series - and franchise - really really needs something good to keep it going.

A trailer with some actual footage will do a lot of good.

OMG!!! It was truly great to see the old girl "brand new". But the guys working on her without spacesuits on the ground is way off. It is kind of finding out that Speed Racer had built the Mach 5 in space first…why??? And how would he get it to Earth???!!! LOL All true to the story know that the Enterprise was built in orbit, like all large star ships. It really marred the importance of the trailer for me. Like we didn't see Nimoy doing those famous words a mile away. If they REALLY want to sell this film, they had better give everyone a taste of something they had never seen before. Because if not, the Trek family is going to die without a whimper. Being a super loyal Trek fan, I'll buy my ticket…it's the other people they need to sell. And building a space ship on Earth which is small that most NFL arenas doesn't not seem to wow their imagination.

it is about time that they decided to revamp the old starship. i think it is so awesome, especially when the ship was built on earth instead of in orbit. it really shows that it could hold its weight and maintain its integrity unlike the old skinny connie one. I had finished watching Cloverfield and i have goosebumps to think about how cool this new movie will be, lookin forward to seeing it next summer, god willing of course.

@Moonobo - you know things don't actually "weigh" anything much in space… It makes more practical sense to build a starship in space. Look at the ISS currently in orbit

The old Enterprise design was good (though the 1979 Andy Probert redesign is far far better).

Abrams must have NSA-level security around this movie, since there's been little to no news or photos for ages
