Full Bootleg X-Files 2 Trailer Hits
March 27, 2008
by Alex Billington
We've still got to wait another month to see the first real trailer for The X-Files 2, but to hold over the fans, you can check out this bootlegged version. I'm not an "X-Files" fan at all, but I did thoroughly enjoy the first movie, so I've got high hopes for this second one as well. However, the problem is all of this hacked up footage and these bootleg trailers really don't help build my interest. They may get fans revved up, but I'm waiting for the first real trailer that will convince me I need to go see this movie this summer. Anyway, enough of my own complaining - check it out below before Fox takes it down!
The series' creator, Chris Carter, who wrote and directed this movie, spoke at the William S Paley Television Festival in Hollywood recently and showed this trailer twice, although it's unfinished. The real version won't hit theaters until May 2nd, presumably in front of Iron Man.
Watch the bootleg trailer for The X-Files 2:
The X-Files 2 is directed by X-Files creator Chris Carter and co-written by both Carter and show regular Frank Spotnitz. The film arrives after a six year hiatus following the series' finale in May of 2002. The currently untitled X-Files 2 arrives in theaters this summer on July 25th.

This (bad quality) teaser did nothing for me. I was a fan of the series from 1994, but the last few season turned me off almost completely. Fight for the Future was kind of OK, but nothing great.
I really thought the franchise was well and truly over, but I'll be watching this one on DVD nevertheless.
