The Escapist Trailer

The Escapist is an absolutely phenomenal movie. It was my favorite film of Sundance, hands down, and has been one of the few I've been very anxious to see again. The film follows Frank Perry and his escape from an underground prison in London. I really can't say enough good things - the soundtrack in it is incredible, Brian Cox is amazing, and everything else is pretty damn perfect. The Escapist will probably still remain one of my favorites all year long and is guaranteed to end up on my best of the year list. I really don't know why this is an indie movie - it definitely feels much more like a full on studio thriller. You need to watch this trailer!

The Escapist is a very thrilling cinematic experience. It keeps the energy up the entire time and lever lets up all the way through the end. I suggest you read my 9 out of 10 review from Sundance to get a better idea of what to expect. "This movie just rocked me to the core. It's almost so good it doesn't deserve to be at Sundance. The Escapist packs one hell of a punch and is entertaining and energetic from its start to its riveting finish. Great characters, a well-written plot, an intricate escape plan, and that damn score, are all part of what made this my favorite film from this year's Sundance."

The Escapist is directed by French filmmaker Rupert Wyatt of Subterrain and Get the Picture. The film was co-written by both Wyatt and newcomer Daniel Hardy. After debuting at the Sundance Film Festival in January, The Escapist was bought by THINKFilm for around $1 million. Although a release date isn't currently set, you can expect the film to show up in theaters around October of 2008. Trust me - you don't want to miss this one!

Wow! I definitely am going to look hard for this movie. It doesn't look indie at all. (Not saying that indie is bad just agreeing with the article)

Hey guys
Is there any reason why all I can see is a spinning load icon in the middle of the trailer screen? None of the trailers seem to load - what am I doing wrong?

You probably need to update your codecs on your computer. Open your active x properties.

This does look very good. What else I like is that the actors, although some look familiar, are not huge names….I wish more movies would choose the right actor for a film, rather than throw a slew of money at a big name and hope he brings in the audience. I like to see lesser known (and usually much better) actors in movies…

You're damn right Movie Lover - only sad thing is, the financing of movies these days depends so much on how much a film is 'worth' in the market place and a name cast adds value in the belief that guarantees a Film's financial success. The reality is often very different and movies that could have been good are sunk by their shoe-horned star names. The Escapist is one of the lucky few that secured finance and producer support from a team of people who actually believed in the script and project and a choice of cast who are in themselves some of the best actors in the biz and elevate this genre movie to a whole new level.

And when I say genre I mean that in the best possible sense of the word!

That was one helluva trailer. 2008 is shaping up to be an amazing year for movies. The last image I have of Brian Cox is him blowing his brains out in The Bourne Supremacy so it'll be good to see him alive and well! Can't wait for this one to come out.
