Just when we thought we had already seen everything badass for Hellboy II: The Golden Army, the good folks at Universal have dropped another incredible poster on us. They're really trying prove that they're the right to studio for Hellboy by releasing some downright amazing marketing materials, including Drew Struzan's gorgeous poster at the New York Comic Con. This new one definitely delivers a punch, both figuratively and literally, and really does kick immense amounts of ass. I think one of these is going to be hanging on my wall here in my office in a matter of days. With that kind of introduction, I know you definitely want to check this thing out full-size below!
Thanks to SuperHeroHype for debuting this exclusively. I'm anxious to hear what everyone else thinks of this as well. I've heard nothing but amazing things so far and I'm really wondering if marketing like this could actually help turn this into a huge sleeper hit in July. Chime in with your comments below!
Hellboy II: The Golden Army is both written and directed by visionary filmmaker Guillermo del Toro of Blade II, Hellboy, and Pan's Labyrinth previously. The film is based off of Mike Mignola's comic book series that was first published by Dark Horse Comics in 1993. Hellboy II: The Golden Army arrives in theaters this summer on July 11th. Mark down that day in your calendars now! If you haven't already seen the latest trailer, make sure you make it a priority to check it out!

That's a really nice poster.
But does anyone else notice the similarity to the Iron Man "fist to the ground" pose that has been floating around in Iron Man's marketing materials?

I'm worried about the tagline… I think it would work better if this was Hellboy 1. I mean come on they have already intorduced the character! Maybe an approach about the golden army would've been more proper… That said, visual wise, yeah its pretty badass =)

Besides the asinine tagline, it's much better than anything else for the movie so far.
Too bad the trailers are bad and Doug Jones's voice work is (apparently) dreadful
The lack of Rupert Evans doesn't help either

Always thought the fist should've been bigger. It's not really that impressive at the moment.

I don't understand how companies with such big marketing budgets can't afford to pay an actual designer to do a good poster. This is one of the LAMEST posters, i may have ever seen.

Looks like the poster for M:I-2. Only in reverse. And with red instead of yellow and orange. And Hellboy instead of Ethan Hunt. And clouds instead of fire.
Gun's the same though. Looks kinda like Deckard's one from Blade Runner.
