Check This Out: Making of The Dark Knight's Clown Masks
June 6, 2008
Source: Comcast
by Alex Billington
Mention of The Dark Knight has been rather scarce since we began the summer movie season, but that will all soon change as we near its July release date. One new video that has popped up recently is a behind-the-scenes featurette on the clown masks in the film. Hopefully you've all seen that gorgeous IMAX prologue that showed in front of I Am Legend last year? I loved the clown masks that the guys wore in that (and was actually sent one a few months ago). This video is all about the making of those masks and it's actually pretty good. You never would have imagined so much work went into making masks - but this is The Dark Knight, and every last crew member is always working to make it absolutely brilliant.
The video comes from a Comcast website for The Dark Knight: comcast.net/thedarkknightmovie/. It's actually an awesome site, so I'd encourage everyone to check it out and watch some of the other new featurette videos they've got hosted on there. This one below was the best so far.
The Dark Knight is directed by phenomenal filmmaker Christopher Nolan (Memento, Batman Begins, The Prestige) and co-written by Nolan, his brother Jonathan Nolan (The Prestige), and David S. Goyer (Blade, Batman Begins). Batman is part of the DC Comics universe of legendary characters. The Dark Knight will hit theaters worldwide on July 18th this summer.

That was certainly awesome. And what made it even awesomer was the B.R. music, to which I have a newfound, heightened appreciation.
Can't wait for the movie. And can't wait for the DVD containing all these BTS featurettes, trailers, and promo materials all in one convenient package.

This is going to be the best movie of 2008, hands down. With The Curious Case of Benjamin Button coming in second. Just my prediction. The Director, The Writers, The Actors, The Composers, all top notch. Does it get any better? I submit: No.
