Must Watch: Epic Wall-E NBA TV Spot!
June 7, 2008
by Alex Billington
I really thought it couldn't get any better. I thought Wall-E already looked amazing. And then this comes along! Even if you're already looking forward to Wall-E, I guarantee this 30 second TV spot will push you even further over the edge. This looks epic and incredible! No, wait, this looks phenomenal, stunning, and profound!! I know not all of you are as big of fans of Pixar as I am, but I'm at the absolute max when it comes to excitement and expectations for Wall-E. And I even heard from a friend who had seen it that as high as my expectations already are, it will still surpass them. This TV spot first aired during the NBA Celtics vs Lakers game just the other night. We hope you enjoy!

Only a few more weeks left for Wall-E to arrive! And oh yea - go Celtics!
Wall-E is both written and directed by Pixar's own Wall-E is both written and directed by Pixar's own Andrew Stanton, who wrote and directed A Bug's Life and Finding Nemo. This movie is Pixar's tenth feature film. Wall-E lands in theaters everywhere this summer on June 27th - see you in the theater!

If by epic you mean gay, then yeah I completely agree. False advertising is what that is. Cloverfields first trailer was epic, this was ridiculous.

Hey Alex I was wondering if you caught the WALL E movie clip tonight on ABC?!
They were showing Finding Nemo in glorious HD, and throughout the movie they were advertising for WALL E. Finally at the end of the movie, we got a real treat: an actual scene from the movie was shown!!!! about 30 seconds long. It was great! Just wondering if you caught it, if not, hopefully it'll be put online sometime soon.

Before I say anything I'm still going to take my one year old to the drive-in to see Wall-e, but despite that fact…
..I'm not a big realistic animation fan..Personally I feel like we're losing our animation roots. I know I'm wrong, so before you say anything we'll start from there. Why I'm saying this? We go to see a kids animation movie because its animated. Not because it looks real. They are getting so realistic that it makes me feel like its not a cartoon anymore. I know it wasn't a kids animation film, but did anyone see beowulf? I feel like all these kids films are looking like that. Disney's animated movies started to suck to me and a lot of other people when they stopped looking like the other 45 or 46 other classics. I don't know who you are or how old you are, everyone knows the lyrics or a song from at least one disney animated film. Where did the music go, where did the excitement go..and most of all where did the hand drawn animation go??

Loved The Incredibles!!!…but everything Pixar has done since then has been awful.
Cars was a bore, Ratatouille was unwatchable, and Meet the Robinsons was a huge waste of the animators and the audiences time. Hopefully this one will be a bit better. The Luxo jr./Short Circuit design ad animation style gets back to Pixar's roots even if it does seem a bit derivative. Perhaps they can restore my faith, but I'm not very optimistic at this point. I'm waiting for true word of mouth on this one, and not relying on trailers.
