Two New Awesome Hellboy II: The Golden Army TV Spots
June 8, 2008

Two great new TV spots for Guillermo del Toro's Hellboy II: The Golden Army have hit online. Both are pretty good but neither are extraordinary. One of these actually features footage from the first Hellboy as part of an introduction to the character. I actually like that marketing tactic, I just hope regular moviegoers don't reject it. I really want Hellboy II to do well, but it needs a very strong first weekend or else it's going to flop. The Dark Knight hits theaters one week later, so if it doesn't do well when it's alone on its first weekend, it's going to disappear after The Dark Knight comes out. Anyway, take a look at these new TV spots and let us know if you think they're enough to get people into theaters.
The first TV spot, titled "1944", features the introduction from the first movie. The second, titled "Forces of Evil", just features some awesome action scenes from the film. How does Hellboy II stack up against your other anticipated movies this summer?

Don't forget to also check out the official website at HellboyMovie.com. The site features a whole plethora of concept art, production diaries, and more goodies for the true Hellboy fan.
Hellboy II: The Golden Army is both written and directed by visionary filmmaker Guillermo del Toro of Blade II, Hellboy, and Pan's Labyrinth previously. The film is based off of Mike Mignola's comic book series that was first published by Dark Horse Comics in 1993. Hellboy II arrives in theaters this summer on July 11th. Mark down that day in your calendars now!

As big a fan as I am, the TV spots don't do it any justice. Then again I've never EVER gone by TV spots to get me amped to see a film. Stick to the trailers people.
I WILL be seeing this opening night. GO GET 'EM, RED!

Hellboy 2 was fun; for sure that director has an amazing imagination, reminded me a lot of his work in Pan's Labyrinth
