Alexandre Aja's Mirrors Teaser Trailer
June 11, 2008

The first annoying teaser trailer for Alexandre Aja's Mirrors has just debuted. Mirrors is your typical Korean horror remake about a security guard, played by Kiefer Sutherland, who becomes wrapped up in a mystery involving a particular department store's mirrors which seem to bring out the worst in people. Although Mirrors is actually rated R, it still seems like a typical PG-13 horror flick, in every possible way. There is a kid who isn't creeped out by weird things, there's a freaked out mom with smeared makeup, there are kids with scary voices, there are dark arms that grab people in the bathtub. Is there going to be anything original about this? Take a look at the new teaser trailer and decide for yourself.
Watch the teaser trailer for Mirrors:
Mirrors is directed by French filmmaker Alexandre Aja, of High Tension, The Hills Have Eyes, and the upcoming Piranha 3-D. The screenplay was written by Aja and his writing partner Grégory Levasseur. The film is actually a remake of a 2003 Korean horror film titled Into the Mirrors directed by Kim Sung-ho. Fox is releasing Mirrors in theaters on August 15th this summer.

The majority of scary movies suck. I have no choice but to assume this one does until I see it or the critics say otherwise.

I am sick of seeing some kid befriend a ghost or monster, and then the wife goes crazy. What the fuck? Kids get scared! Kids get scared more than anyone! Why wasn't he running and screaming down the hall?!

Kids if you want a good scary (still kind of cheesy) movie then go watch "In the Mouth of Madness"

yeah the kid talking to his mom and the water on the floor is all well worn territory, but I think the mirror stuff could actually be kinda cool. No one has done anything scary with mirrors lately in movies and they have the possibility to be a creepy set piece.

I love the "…there are dark arms that grab people in the bathtub." - Hilarious!
You are absolutely right, nothing new here.

I thought this movie was going to be about a security guard and the mirrors in the broken-down department store he's guarding? When I first heard about it I thought it could be interesting, but this teaser makes it look like it's just some generic "things jump in front of the camera" scary flick with a new-ish gimmick. Not cool.

I think Sutherland has a larger enbough loyal fanbase of 24 for this to be an R-rated hit. Like number 8 says, I was expecting the same which would have been much better but this teaser is only slapdash and 45sec. so I really can't judge for sure, probably just wanted something before THE HAPPENING. However, how will this be ready for early August?

why didnt they return the mirrors and buy new ones somewhere else? just dont break them cuz then youve got 7 years bad luck
this might give pineapple express a run for its money as best comedy of the summer

oh my god this looks like an absolute piece of trash why do they bother who actually watches these poor excuses for horror movies.

I'd like to think this would be pretty good since High Tension was one of the most insane horror films I've seen, and The Hills Have Eyes, as reliant on violence as it was, was undeniably entertaining. But the Japanese horror thing has kinda fell through since it was introduced to American audiences.

while I'm generally one to hold my opinion and defend teaser trailers…this looks shitty. and mostly due to the fact that MOST horror films nowadays ARE shitty.

Aja is a great director. So I have nothing of the utmost confidence in this film. Concidering he also wrote the movie. Thats also a plus.
And full all of you that say most horror movies are shitty now adays. You are wrong..all are shitty except for a silent minority. Most of the good horror movies to come out majority of the people in the US are never going to see.
And to answer your question #9(ryan) the movie will be ready for august becuase its been done for a while. Its just been in post production.
