FS.net Makes PC Mag's Best Web Sites for Movie Fans!
June 20, 2008
by Alex Billington
Every once in a while we've got to take a breather and pat ourselves on the back. Today is one of those days. Last year we were honored by PC Mag as one of the Top 100 Undiscovered Websites. This year we've moved up in status. PC Mag just released their list titled The Best Web Sites for Movie Fans and we're #5 on it! "Get ready for summer blockbuster season with these 15 movie sites and blogs, offering a daily fix of news, reviews, spoilers, and more." We're ranked #5 because we fall into the Movie News category, which comes after the first three sites that are part of the Movie Reviews category. You can find out direct listing in the article here. Thanks for all the support PC Mag, we truly appreciate it!
Here is their great little description about us from the article. You can see us in full on PCMag.com.
A 2007 PC Magazine Top 100 Undiscovered Web site, First Showing is offers a complete list of movie release dates, movie news from various sources, and an archive of reviews written by the FirstShowing.net staff. Interviews with the likes of director Peter Segal and actor Ben Stiller also make the site an interesting read.
Sorry about the local Colorado Springs events! We're hoping to expand that even further in the future, but for now we're constrained to this gorgeous little mountain town. And on that note, it's time to update that Google Calendar with all the latest! Thanks to everyone for all the continued support that has helped us continue to grow. We wouldn't be where we are today without the gracious support of all of our readers and everyone who continues to make this one of the most exciting places to discuss movies. Thank you!

Bloody Brilliant! I know after I discovered FIRSTSHOWING.NET….I have been armed with incredible information and up to date rumor and more, which BEFORE would take me to many sites to do research with little time to do it……and the best thing is…… IT'S NOT BLOCKED AT MY OFFICE! I have spread the word!
Thank you, and CONGRATS!

Congrats! Not a bad list to be ranked so highly on either! Although I'd switch IMDB and Rotten Tomaters on the list, and I have problems with FWFR being so high. But that's probably due to the high ratio of my submissions that were rejected! GRRR!!
I found this site from a linked story on Cinematical, and over the course of a few weeks it supplanted that site as my go-to film site. One of the main reasons is what Tim C. (#15) said, I can get to it from work!! So don't get TOO famous and get yourself list on Websense's block list. HAHA!
Nice balance of reviews, trailers, news/rumors, and general film discussion here. If only you guys can get those insanely rabid Twilight fans under control this site would be near-perfect!
