Rumor: Return of the Live Action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles?!
I will gladly admit that I am an enormous fan of the original two live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movies from 1990 and 1991 respectively. My childhood revolved around playing with Leonardo, Donatello, Michaelangelo, and Raphael action figures and pretending April O'Neil was my girlfriend (I'm not ashamed to admit it)! Alas, when the TMNT animated movie came out last year, I was one of the first in line to see it in theaters. Although I enjoyed it, it didn't live up to my childhood memories. Now an interesting rumor has popped up, via SlashFilm, that a live-action film is in the works due to the success of that film. I didn't think it did that well (it made $54 million at the box office), but apparently Mirage is already working on a live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie for 2010.

Kevin's Review: The Dark Knight - The Dark Has Never Been So Bright
It feels completely counter-intuitive to care little about the special effects and action in The Dark Knight, Christopher Nolan's sequel to his 2005 Batman Begins. For a movie like this, you naturally expect to be engrossed by garish gadgetry, incredible stunts and seat-gripping adventure. The Dark Knight has all of this, don't get me wrong, but even the most intricately executed explosion or choreographed car crash does little to shock you out of the stunning, unrelenting dark drama created in what amounts to one of the best sequels in cinematic history. Nolan takes the basic idea of good versus evil to depths rarely seen, and awes the audience with the heady psychology and physics of what happens when "an unstoppable force meets an immovable object."

Michael Bay Feeds the Crazies - Updates on Transformers 2, Friday the 13th
My affinity for Michael Bay is not unlike my addiction to Runts -- you can't exactly argue that it's good for you, but it can be pretty tasty at times. The explosion-happy director even endeared himself to me with his recent 'Awesome' ad for Verizon. But I can't say that I'm exactly thrilled that the guy has initiated his own personal campaign against online outlets to seed misinformation to the so-called "internet crazies." Thankfully, Bay recently spoke to Entertainment Weekly about Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen and the Friday the 13th remake this his production company, Platinum Dunes, is developing. I guess all those fanatic "crazies" can take a break from pulling out their eyelashes and talking to their coffee mugs.

Must Watch: First Terminator Salvation Teaser Trailer!
This wasn't supposed to be online this early, but here it is anyway, the first teaser trailer for the (soon to be) highly anticipated Terminator Salvation. Christian Bale stars as John Connor, Bryce Dallas Howard as Kate Connor, and Anton Yelchin as Kyle Reese. After seeing this, I'm finally able to tell you that officially this does not look that impressive... at all. In comparison to the Watchmen trailer, it's like night and day (this one being the ugly one). Although this is a teaser and barely shows any footage, I'm still not that excited. However, I think we just need to see more. There are a few scenes that make me feel like it could be great, plus I don't think anyone can go wrong with Christian Bale! Overall, I'm not looking forward to this (yet), but maybe I need to see this trailer on the big screen to fully take it all in. Thoughts?

Patrick Wilson Confirms Watchmen's Ending Will Be Like the Graphic Novel
There is one thing that everyone should be excited to see this weekend on top of The Dark Knight - the first Watchmen trailer. I happened to get an early look at it this week and it truly took my breath away. But alas, that will officially launch at 9PM PST on Thursday - so check back in then. However, as buzz begins to pick up on Watchmen, one of the big questions on the minds of fans is whether or not they're going to keep the original ending. If you've read the graphic novel, you know it ends in an epic and gory way - but it's pretty damn perfect and exciting. Of course, we're not going to straight out tell you exactly how the Watchmen ends, because that would be ridiculous! But Patrick Wilson, who plays Nite Owl in the movie, talked with MTV recently and assured them they're keeping it the same.

Livin' the High Life - Two Pineapple Express TV Spots!
There hasn't been any new footage since way back in February when the red band trailer for Pineapple Express first debuted. Now we're a week away from Comic-Con and a few more weeks away from the theatrical release - it's about time we started the buzz again on this comedy! I think James Franco is going to become the new classic stoner character and I can't wait to see him take over Dave Chappelle's spot! And as for Seth Rogen, I'm always up for laughing at his antics in a summer flick - especially one about smokin' weed. If you need a reminder, Pineapple Express is the newest stoner comedy hitting theaters this August. These two TV spots should get you in the mood for it again rather quickly.

Rumor: Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio in Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards
I think news on Quentin Tarantino's Inglorious Bastards is not going to stop until the film eventually hits theaters next year. Everyone has jumped on this project as the next big WWII hit (even over Bryan Singer's Valkyrie), including myself, and the news just won't stop - from rumors to script reviews and beyond. The latest unconfirmed rumor regarding Inglorious Bastards includes both Brad Pitt and Leonardo DiCaprio as potential cast members. Apparently Pitt read the script quite early and has been talking with Tarantino, while DiCaprio is planning a meeting with him later this week to supposedly talk about the film. Although the script itself already sounded incredible so far, this film is definitely sounding better and better with each announcement - especially something like this...

Thom Beers Bringing Chopper Zombie to the Big Screen!
Executive producer Thom Beers, who is credited for creating the incredibly successful Discovery channel shows "Deadliest Catch," "Monster Garage," and "Ice Road Truckers", is producing his first feature film, titled Chopper Zombie. Check out this concept: a motorcycle builder refuses to sell his formula for a new superfuel to a dangerous corporation; when a team of thugs drowns him in his own toxic creation, he rises from the dead with a score to settle. Yes, this is a zombie flick with motorcycles and it sounds badass. The film is based on a graphic novel being published by Devil's Due that will debuting at Comic-Con next week. While the comic is being written by Todd Livingston and drawn by Scott Keating, no writer or director has been announced yet for the film. I don't even know if this comic is any good - but this sounds awesome.

Stan Winston's Monster Squad Being Remade by Rob Cohen!
It's time for another Hollywood disaster. Apparently the classic 1987 horror fantasy Monster Squad is being remade. Guess who is producing it? Rob Cohen, of some of the worst movies of the decade, including The Skulls, xXx, and Stealth, is not directing, only producing (phew!). Oddly enough, Cohen was a producer on the original 1987 film as well as other 70's and 80's "classics" like Almost Summer, The Wiz, Light of Day, and so on. Anyway, considering Monster Squad is a staple amongst horror fanatics, I'm sure this is some pretty sad news. As classic as this film is, I definitely think it doesn't need to remade, which is the opposite of what I thought for Clash of the Titans - but that's a whole other story.

Must Watch: Frank Miller's The Spirit Back in Action
Late last night we debuted the brand new, funky trailer for Frank Miller's The Spirit, but alas Lionsgate had it removed by the morning. Now it's back in action, fully available for your viewing pleasure below. Giving this a second shot, I must say it does look slightly more badass watching the action and style at the end of the trailer in high definition. The first half is still ridiculously weird, and I have no clue if they were going for the Bond music video kind of shots, but by the end it finally gets into the actual "good parts." Overall I really don't know what the heck the story is going to be about, since there is no explanation or development in this trailer, but hopefully that's one of the stronger elements of this movie. And I ask again - hopefully Frank Miller doesn't let us down, but he hasn't so far has he?
