Must Watch: One More Crazy Pineapple Express Trailer!
July 22, 2008
by Alex Billington
We posted a couple of TV spots for Pineapple Express a few weeks ago, but we haven't seen a complete new trailer like this since March! Now we've got our hands on a new international trailer with a few new scenes but enough to remind you that you'll want to clear your schedule in a few weeks so that you can catch this awesome new comedy. Between this and and Tropic Thunder, the two big comedies this summer, I'm leaning towards Pineapple Express. It's something with Judd Apatow's touch and the fact that Rogen and Franco look like the amazingly perfect duo of stoner friends. Like Superbad last year, I really can't wait to see how the story unfolds and how crazy it all becomes. Hopefully it lives up to all of my expectations!
Watch the new trailer for Pineapple Express:
Pineapple Express is directed by David Gordon Green (of Snow Angels, Undertow, All the Real Girls) and written by the trio of Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and Judd Apatow (naturally). Express follows Rogen and Franco as they get stoned, run from cops, crash cars and fire guns. No further explanation needed. The stoner revival begins this summer on August 8th. If you ain't stoned, don't go see it!

About time people see that James Franco is a funny mother fucker, back in the freeks and geeks days, good times.

I don't know. I'm not normally into completely stupid movies. Superbad and Knocked Up for some reason, when I saw the trailers for them, each time I went "i have to see that!" but for this… ehhh. The other two turned out to be better movies than I could have expected. this movie actually looks generally stupid and I'm not set on it.
We'll leave it at I'm skeptical until a friend tells me otherwise.

I agree with number 5. For some reason this one does nothing really for me. Seeing it Thursday though so I'll see how it is.

Did they change the song to say 'seed' instead of 'weed'? I mean he smokes it in the trailer, what's the point?

James Franco is gonna make this movie, the story and everything else will be great but damn Franco looks hilarious!

yes they did, #11. i was singing along and then she said "seed" and i was like, "wha?…" but you don't really see him smoking weed, he's just blowing smoke. and #6, don't kill me, but sarah marshall wasn't exactly the funniest movie. i mean, it lagged a lot. there were funny parts…but it wasn't funny all the way. this one looks like a hilarious adventure! hope i can see it at midnight.

looks good, i'm going to have to check it out
I enjoyed 'Knocked Up', couldn't really get into 'Superbad', but absolutely laughed my ass of in 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall'. Some of that might be attributed to the old lady sitting two seats over giggling like a school girl through the thing…she'd obviously been tricked into seeing this, but enjoyed it so much…but it just shows to go you that you can't beat the theatre experience.

Great music, great casting (Gary Cole FTW!), great jokes, surprisingly good direction - in the trailers, anyway. This is going to be great, no two ways about it.
