Check This Out: Extended Action Clip from Star Wars: The Clone Wars
July 26, 2008

There's no denying that this new Star Wars movie looks pretty damn good, however the biggest question is if it's worth seeing in theaters. Maybe this latest clip will help you decide. Yahoo has posted an extended action scene flip from Star Wars: The Clone Wars. We don't normally post clips, but I thought this might be enough to convince some that it's worth seeing in theaters. The action in this movie looks incredibly well done and should be exciting to watch. Although this doesn't come close to any of the live action Star Wars movies, I've got a good feeling it's going to be very entertaining to see in theaters. I'm not trying to sell anyone, but if you watch this clip and feel like it's worth your time by the end, then I've at least helped one person! Let us know what you think and hopefully you enjoy it as much as I did.

On the front lines of an intergalactic struggle between good and evil, fans young and old will join such favorite characters as Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi and Padmé Amidala, along with brand-new heroes like Anakin's padawan learner, Ahsoka. Sinister villains — led by Palpatine, Count Dooku and General Grievous — are poised to rule the galaxy. Stakes are high, and the fate of the Star Wars universe rests in the hands of the daring Jedi Knights. Their exploits lead to the action-packed battles and astonishing new revelations that fill Star Wars: The Clone Wars.
Star Wars: The Clone Wars is being directed by Dave Filoni, of "Avatar: The Last Airbender", with a story by George Lucas himself. The two hour animated movie will kick off a new TV series after debuting in theaters. Star Wars: The Clone Wars will play in movie theaters this summer starting on August 15th. If you're a true Star Wars geek I know I'll see you there! The poster for the film is featured below.

There are two reasons why I probably won't see the film:
1) It's nothing but a glorified TV pilot that's only going into theatres to make a quick buck
2) It opens the same weekend as Tropic Thunder and I'm more likely to go see that film
Though, there is a slim chance I may change my mind.

I am game… some of the animated lip sync looks off… but that could just be the style of animation.. either way .. looks fun

Animation wayyyy to blocky not smooth at all makes it hard to watch

Sean Kelly, shut up. george lucas is rich beyond your understanding and doesn't need to make a quick buck. there are plenty of people that DO want to watch this "glorified TV pilot" and I'm one of them, and that's who he made it for.
Wes, how is it hard to watch? It hasn't thrown me off at all..maybe I can just watch things better than some people. that sucks.
I'm totally in for this movie, can't wait.

Im not a star wars expert so maybe someone can help me on this… are some clones just more way more skilled than others? Like the officers in that seemed to kick way more ass than the grunts.
As for the battle sequence itself… I think if the whole series is like that, I would most definitely be interested in seeing the whole series. That was really fun to watch!!

My kids and I loved the Avatar series. We will most definitely be entertaining ourselves with light sabers etc on or about August 15th.

officers get different training or more special combat training along the lines of the spec ops with anakin.
This looks made for tv

I'll only see this if it's actually introducing something NEW to the story. That sequence made me yawn, it's almost exactly like something WE'VE ALREADY SEEN in the prequels, except this looks like little more than a video game. And the more Lucas uses R2-D2 in the story alongside Obi-Wan, the more absurd it seems that he wouldn't have even recognized the droid when they were introduced in A New Hope. Wow, the continuity holes just become even more glaring as Lucas builds more of the back-story.

when i hear "a story by george lucas himself" i cringe

Garrett, it your assuming I'm not a Star Wars fan, that is not the case.
However, with the animated series starting in the fall, there is no real incentive to pay money to see it on the big screen.

Come on, Shelley! Of course I'll watch it. It's friggin Star Wars.
Btw, that first person view within the advancing clone troopers was cool.

Wow. This looks REALLY bad. I would expect better animation from Lucas. Also, why is there absolutely NO marketing on TV for this whatsoever.

Most pointless movie ever??? Didn't we already go back in time with the Star Wars series? This animation looks cheap and the voice reactions are just silly. I can't watch a movie already knowing the characters' fates.

Id rather go see Tropic Thunder ill just wait for a dvd release or tv release for this film.

I feel like lucas is sacrificing everything Star Wars stood for in order to have cool action, the story seems to have been put to the side. The action sequences are totally awesome, but it's not why I love Star Wars, I think I would prefer most of the comics to this. From a cinematography perspective this movie looks terrible, the animation is really weak, I would have liked to see actual animators draw a Star Wars film.

I am now a mediocre Star Wars fan after seeing the first three episodes….George Lucas really went bonkers in those years between Jedi and Phantom Menace. I mean, he just got so jazzed by special effects and lasers and lights and such he lost the touch with the new ones.
Too bad, it was a great franchise. I will probably see this just for the heck of it….and fun movie to check out, but Not to be taken seriously whatsoever!!

!!!!!!!!!!! No Thanks …
most of you who read my previews comments about CGI and animation stuff got a good idea that I can get into details but not this time because it is wast of time …
Respect for the fans of Star wars but again No …

I am a huge star wars fan, but I am not sure I will see this in the movies.

for #6 nate: there are several levels of clone troopers. Karen Travis has written 3 republic commando books in the SW storyline and has one on the way called order 66. she also wrote the book adaptation of this movie. I hope the movie shoes the growth of the troopers as well as the books do.

looks pretty crapy.
still, it SW and I can't help myself but go see it.

#21 Thanks Rob, its just cool to see the higher ranked clone troopers cause damage like that. It makes me want to root for them because they're not stacked like the jedi haha

HAHA Garret.king is a SW fanboy. Whether you like it or not this is trying to make a quick buck — and you cant see things better, because the characters are WAY too blocky.

Wow, that looked totally lame, and forgettable.
Btw, don't they have any nukes in the SW universe?
I'd like to see a light sabre deflect one of those.

This looks baaaad. Honestly, there is far better CG animation being made, and the lapse between voice and lip movement is just amateur. Ridiculous waste of time and money. I have ultra-respect for the franchise, but this looks just awful. I'm disappointed to be sure.

Regarding #1's second reason he's not going to go see this: maybe this site could create an FS.net Deluxe wing for those of us who can stomach seeing more than one film a week.

Wow, I'm a fan of the franchise and I liked the prequels, but this is a bit much. The characters look like crap and half the actors are different, this is a movie that seems like it would be better suited for a straight to DVD release. This movie is proof of the decline in quality that the franchise has suffered.
