New Behind-the-Scenes Featurette on Henry Selick's Coraline

Our friends at Rotten Tomatoes have debuted a great behind-the-scenes sneak peek featurette on Henry Selick's Coraline and it's quite worth watching. The film is Selick's latest stop animation feature adapted from Neil Gaiman's novel about a girl who walks through a secret door and finds herself in an alternate reality. This is yet again another one of those impressive featurettes that should leave viewers incredibly excited to see Coraline. And the dynamic between Henry Selick talking about Neil Gaiman and vice versa is incredibly exciting to hear. Henry definitely is brilliant at stop motion animation and although I'm not a huge fan of his previous work, Coraline does look good and I'll give it a chance myself.
I know there are a lot of fans of Selick's Nightmare Before Christmas, but there hasn't been much talk about Coraline and I'm wondering if there just hasn't been enough exposure or whether most people really don't care about this story. I think it definitely looks good, but I'm not sure if it's the next big stop animation hit on the same level as Nightmare Before Christmas. Does Coraline look good or not?
Coraline is both written and directed by Henry Selick, who directed the other stop animation movies The Nightmare Before Christmas, James and the Giant Peach, and Monkeybone. The film is an adaptation of Neil Gaiman's novel of the same name. Coraline is set to arrive in theaters on February 6th, 2009.

I'm excited for this because I'm a huge Neil Gaiman *and* Henry Selick. But this is the first I've heard of it outside of Neil's blog, so I'm thinking exposure is definitely a huge issue. But it's not out till February, so there's still time for the hype.

Isn't this supposed to be in 3D or did they ditch that concept? I remember a 3D trailer infront of Beowulf for it.
