Must Watch: Badass Red Band Righteous Kill Trailer
August 16, 2008
by Alex Billington
We've got some fantastic red band trailers to feature this weekend, this one for Righteous Kill being the second so far (in addition to Death Race). Besides some gun shots, one of the only reasons this is red band is the language. And hearing Robert De Niro and Al Pacino cursing each other out and yelling at people couldn't make me happier. In fact, this red band has really boosted my interest and now I feel like this honestly could be a great movie. I wasn't so sure with Summit Entertainment, but this has convinced me that it'll be pretty badass. Of course I knew this when I realized it's fuckin' De Niro and Pacino together anyway! Definitely be sure to check this trailer out. Hopefully I'm not the only one excited!
Watch the red band trailer for Righteous Kill:
Righteous Kill is directed by Jon Avnet of Fried Green Tomatoes, The War, and 88 Minutes, with a script by Russell Gewirtz, of Inside Man previously. The film is being released by Overture Films and is produced by a number of pretty uninteresting folks. Righteous Kill arrives in theaters on September 12th.

I'm still not completely sold. I mean Jon Avnet…what the hell do Pacino and De Niro see in him? Seriously. And 50 Cent…lets not go there either. Still excited but with a little hesitation to say the least.

Some directors just need the right movie to show what they have brewing in that skull of theirs. I think it looks great.

No, it still looks bad.

I saw how Jon Avnet direct 88 minutes with Al Pacino and I am not happy about it … I always say even good actors can't save a low budget movie … and for me this movie is low budget ….because both :
Millennium Films and Nu Image Films … never did a big movie and can't do it … !!!
The truth this trailer is better …but I will not have any expectation for this movie over just a trailer … for sure I will watch it as a respect for Pacino and De Niro …

#6: You saw 88 Minutes?
Some people just have to be different, don't they (joke).
Oh, and this film looks like two fat cheques for two old stars who sadly no longer seem to care.
A rental, probably.

@seolman: What if he's one of the victims? hehe.
Anyway, I liked this flick from the beginning. I figured it would be one that had a lot of material they couldn't put into a general-release trailer. If the film is R-rated, then you really need an r-rated cut for the trailer to get a feel for the flick. I was hoping they'd put out a red trailer for this.

50Cent, Al Pacinos big hairfluff and a DeNiro on steroids. Looks like a mess.

Everyone … I think I will let you know now why the hell I am not expecting a lot from this movie ….
Nu Image and Millenium wanted to shoot the movie in Bulgaria … and I think anyone who know me or read my previews comment will understand what it mean to shoot a movie in Bulgaria ….
I am glad they couldn't realized that idea … otherwise believe me even if God was in the movie I will not pay for watching it …. Again I respect both actors … but I hope this movie will be better than Heat in every aspect …otherwise it will stay as a big shame on their face forever ….
Because both actors know better than me and you that they must choose a good story and good director and of course a good production companies to make a movie like this … for now :
1- The companies are a mistake … ( Take a look to their movies and see what shits they produced until now )
2- The director is a mistake too … ( Who saw 88 minutes will understand what I am talking about ) and if you protect Jon Avnet and make him look like Michael Mann then you must be idiot or crazy .
Hope at least the story and the cinematography to be good and in the level of Heat … This movie is a dream and a wish of every movie fans and movie makers and even people who never care so much about movies but still they wanted to saw both of them in the movie again …
This movie must be classic … this movie must be better than Heat .. Godfather .. and even The Dark Knight
otherwise … I don't see any reason these two to face each other again … This movie must be made for making Art and making history ..not just making money … !!!
I hope you don't take my words as hate against these two great actors … I am just wishing to see another classic movie nothing ells …

better than the last trailer but thats due to the stones and the bad laungage , the director is a journeyman so i'm still on the fence. I fucking adore these guys and their early work and both of there comeback years but really cant see this knocking it out of the park, but what i love about the movies is there is always a chance of being surprised.

#31: Are you talking about Sympathy for the Devil ruining the trailer?
Actually it sold the film to me - together with Pacino of course.
And I agree with Floyd in #16 - even Mr. Curtis looks good in this trailer.
I'll definitely go see it.
