Worth Watching - Aug 24: New York, I Love You Trailer

A trailer for the unofficial follow-up to Paris, Je T'aime from last year titled New York, I Love You has debuted. I'm personally trying to unpack and move into our new apartment in Los Angeles today, so I'll make this intro brief. The film features a total of 12 individual shorts. Each one is a love story set in New York City that join together to form a complete film. The directors involved include: Yvan Attal, Allen Hughes, Shunji Iwai, Wen Jiang, Scarlett Johansson, Joshua Marston, Natalie Portman, Brett Ratner, Andrei Zvyagintsev, Fatih Akin, Shekhar Kapur, and Mira Nair. The trailer looks pretty good and I'm interested, but Paris, Je T'aime wasn't exactly the best film, so I'm still a bit hesitant. Enjoy!

New York, I Love You is an ensemble anthology film featuring 12 shorts set in New York City each directed by a different filmmaker. The film will officially premiere at the Toronto Film Festival this September. Newcomer Palm Pictures currently has the theatrical distribution rights for New York, I Love You and will be releasing it in limited theaters starting on February 19th, 2009.

Paris, Je T'aime —> Yes its worth renting, its actually a very well done movie, all the shorts are edited nicely, the themes of the movie are good and overall the art direction is very unique.
But this movie… um still in doubt whether it will be good or not…dunno, ill just bootleg it

Wow. That was a long comment. and…Paris Je T'aime was amazing. You just have to know that it's not going to be a movie, it's a series of shorts. But done by directors that most audiences are familiar with in features.

Big big fan of the first one. What I particularly enjoy is that the directors are ethnically diverse, just like the city itself. It would be one thing to watch a movie about New York from the American perspective but something entirely different coming from a foreign one. My one issue, Scarlett Johansson as a director? She may be hot but she can't do everything…stick to acting for now.

Paris, Je T'aime was BEAUTIFUL. I really loved it, and it's definitely worth renting, or even buying.
I'm actually really looking forward to this one. I was a little skeptical when I first heard about it, but now that I've seen the trailer, I'm a kind of anxious (in a good way!), to see this.
I'm also really intrigued and looking forward to some of the cast in this one, and Scarlett Johansson as a director actually sounds really appealing to me. Natalie Portman is such a love too, so I can't wait. Also as much as I adore Paris, New York really has me interested.
I guess we'll see soon enough!

You know what I love about New York? The ethnic diversity. Why, there must have been 2 or 3 Asians mixed in with all those pretty white folk.
No thanks. If I want to see this version of NY again I'll sit at home and catch a Friends rerun.

Looks awesome. Hopefully this time around it will get a bigger release with a slightly more mainstream cast. This would be an awesome franchise. BRING THE SHORT FILMS BACK!

Why didn't Hayden come to see the film in his home town? Sure would have seehim there guess he have things to do. And will be at premier in new york when it comes out. Rachel bilson was asked how did it feel to work with him again she said that it wasn't intersrsting to talk about.Guess she don't want too talk about him anymore.
