FS.net's Whirlwind Film Festival Tour Begins Today!
August 28, 2008
by Alex Billington
We're off on yet another incredible adventure! I'm currently on my way to Telluride, Colorado for the 35th Telluride Film Festival, which will kick off a 27 day worldwide film festival extravaganza. I'm traveling with Peter from SlashFilm to Telluride then the Toronto Film Festival in September and eventually the Fantastic Fest in Austin, Texas to wrap it all up. I'm excited but also a bit weary, considering I'm about to be on the road for a total of 27 days. Either way, we're getting ready to bring you some of the best coverage from these three fests you'll see anywhere and are putting together interviews, reviews and so much more. Don't worry, we'll be bringing you all of our regular news as well as extensive festival coverage. So if you're not excited for the Oscar season yet, you will be as we start to head into September!
I've already coordinated a few interviews with the likes of Guy Ritchie and Ed Harris and are working on Darren Aronofsky, Steven Soderbergh and even Ed Norton, so stay tuned. As for the movies I'm hoping to see, I can't give you a full list because it would be upwards of around 40 to 50 movies, but there are a lot of good ones that will be showing at all three of the fests – check their individual websites for full lists. Some of them I'm looking forward to the most are the Coen Brothers' Burn After Reading, Soderbergh's Che, The Good The Bad and The Weird, Darren Aronofsky's The Wrestler and Charlie Kaufman's Synecdoche, New York. It's been a long summer but now it's time to shift our focus from the big blockbusters to the independent films and Oscar contenders. See you around the world!

Funny that you turn up in Colorado after having just left.
Have fun, but really I don't envy you guys… you are going to be EXHAUSTED at the end of the 28 days!

I'd love to read an interview with Aronfsky, and I'm sure you'd come up with some pretty deep questions for him…
especially his obsession with shaven brawl hungry men as of late
