Worth Watching - Sept 14: First Revolutionary Road Footage
September 14, 2008
by Alex Billington
Technically speaking, this is a trailer for the upcoming film Revolutionary Road, but it's from Entertainment Tonight and it's been cut up so I can't really call it an actual trailer. It is the first footage we've seen from the film and is impressive. Revolutionary Road stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet as a young couple living together in the 1950's. For the longest time I didn't know what to expect and was worried that this wouldn't be anything great, because a film about a couple doesn't sound too interesting. But now that we've got our first look, I'm convinced that this might be pretty damn good.
Watch the first footage from Revolutionary Road:
Revolutionary Road is directed by Oscar winning director Sam Mendes, of American Beauty, Road to Perdition, and Jarhead previously. The screenplay was written by Justin Haythe, of The Clearing previously, and is based on a book of the same name written by legendary author Richard Yates. Paramount is debuting Revolutionary Road in limited theaters starting on December 26th later this year.

Wow so unless there is some kinda interesting story I know a whole shitload of boring people who broke up, what makes this something I should pay to watch? It actually looks painfully boring if you ask me. Granted I don't know more then what I saw but it looks like a bunch of people who aren't grateful for what they have whining and crying about it.

I think everyone is just sub-consciously reacting to Mary Hart…and not in a good way. However, Kate Winslet is truly one of the most beautiful women.

The music composed by Thomas Newman is reason enough for me to go and see the flick. Newman combined with Mendes directing and Deakins as cinematographer is a classic in the making. I hope this turns out as good as I expect it to be.
