Must Watch: Red Band Role Models Trailer
September 16, 2008
by Alex Billington
Another new trailer for Role Models has hit and this time it's red band! Unfortunately it's not red band for the reasons you think, but we'll let you see for yourselves. As you probably already know, Role Models stars Paul Rudd and Seann William Scott as two energy drink spokesmen who get sentenced to community service and are forced to mentor two crazy kids. I didn't think there were any more good comedies left this year, but Role Models looks great. McLovin is definitely going to be the highlight and I'm interested to see Paul Rudd take on a good lead role as well. I just hope this trailer was enough to convince those used to Tropic Thunder and Pineapple Express that this could be just as good. What do you think?
Watch the red band trailer for Role Models:
Role Models is both co-written and directed by actor and filmmaker David Wain, of Wet Hot American Summer, The Ten, and "Wainy Days" previously. The script was co-written by Wain, Timothy Dowling (George Lucas in Love), Ken Marino (Diggers, The Ten) and actor Paul Rudd. Universal is releasing Role Models in theaters on November 14th this year. Hope to see you there!

I had no idea this film even existed, but I love what Paul Rudd brings to the screen so I'm very much looking forward to this!

Hey, that actually looks funny! More than I can say for past so-called comedies I've seen lately.

I think McLovin looks funny, but I think it's kind of a cliche to have a smack-talking black kid in the movie.
They should have made him some super-adorable little red-headed kid from the South so no one would believe Stiffler's complaints when the kid steps out of line.

If it gets decent reviews I'll see it. I love Wet Hot American Summer, and Stella Shorts, so I'd give this a go.

This looks hilarious! I can't wait for it to come out. I laughed through the whole trailer, and I'm guessing by the time I leave the theater my sides are going to hurt.
"Fuck you Miss Daisy"….LOL

No chance in hell I'm wasting my time watching this, but that "Beyonce pouring sugar on my dick" drawing was hilarious.

I saw this as a sneak preview back in June when it was still called 'Mentors'. It is one of the funniest movies that I have seen in a very long time. If you are a fan of Superbad, 40 year old Virgin and some of the Apotow stuff….you will like this.

Hi again, everybody!
I had to search for this post because I had to come back and say I was 100% wrong and I feel like an idiot. My meetup.com movie group scheduled a screening of this and I must admit this movie was fucking hysterical!! It gets a bit sappy in parts, but overall it was about as funny as anything I saw in all of 2008. Go check it out at the second-run theaters, rent it, or buy the DVD. Meanwhile, I'm going to start recalibrating my Trailer Judgment Scale, because I was WAY off with this one.
