Must Watch: Full Trailer for Sam Mendes' Revolutionary Road

One week ago we posted a rough version of the first trailer for Revolutionary Road (it came from Entertainment Tonight). Now we've thankfully got the actual full uncut version for our enjoyment. I'll reiterate again that I think this looks quite impressive, and I've heard from a friend, who has already seen it, and said that both Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet will undoubtedly be in the Oscar run. I won't be able to make a true judgment until I actually see this, but I can say this trailer really makes it look damn good and now I'm looking forward to watching it. Before this trailer, I was a bit skeptical, unsure of whether a 1950's-set romance between DiCaprio and Winslet would be any good, but now I'm convinced.

Revolutionary Road is directed by Oscar winning director Sam Mendes, of American Beauty, Road to Perdition, and Jarhead previously. The screenplay was written by Justin Haythe, of The Clearing previously, and is based on a book of the same name written by legendary author Richard Yates. Paramount is debuting Revolutionary Road in limited theaters starting on December 26th later this year.

Not bad. Every movie Mendes makes is different from his previous. After Jarhead, Road to Perdition and American Beauty I have faith Mendes can pull off anything. Don't know if I'm really excited for this movie, but at least it looks classy.

My mistake. I was thinking of Towelhead, which is directed by Alan Ball. (similarities to their collaboration on American Beauty)

Looks really good, but this looks like a box office flop even with the two leads. It seems extremely depressing and being released around Christmas isn't the best time for those films but rather Sept., Oct., before the holidays. Changling looks much better.

Looks depressing. I'll probably see it because I like Sam Mendes but this movie looks a little too similar to my own life and might be a tough watch for me.
I still have a really hard time buying Leonardo DiCaprio as a man. I believe he is actually older than I am, but damn if he doesn't still look like a child.

That would be hilarious if at the end of the movie, they just decided to run away from it all and Leonardo's character booked a cruise, and the ship hits an iceberg.

Looks intense, and yes, pretty depressing, but I'm sure that stuff parallels with any marriage - if its in the 50s or today. I think its a real depiction of human emotion and what they hell they're doing in life. I'd like to see it, but I'm sure its also gonna make me hold off on getting married anytime soon haha

If they stay true to the novel's ending, this will be incredibly depressing. There should be strong performances all around though. We'll see.

Loved the book. I bet the movie will be smart, beautifully done, moving, sad…and a box office bomb, unfortunately.
