Must Watch: Nacho Vigalondo's Timecrimes Trailer

Timecrimes is the first feature-length film from whimsical Spanish filmmaker Nacho Vigalondo. It's a low budget supernatural thriller about a man who accidentally gets sent back in time and must solve a mystery. It first premiered at the Fantastic Fest in Austin last year and went on to play at Sundance earlier this year. I've heard great things about it and have been interested in seeing it. I'm expecting that most of you might end up seeing this when it hits theaters (or DVD) anyway, because it's building a cult following and already has an American remake in the works. And this looks pretty damn good for a low budget thriller like this. For some late night entertainment, be sure to check out this trailer for Timecrimes.
Johnny Butane of Dread Central gave the film a good review, saying that "Timecrimes is not for everyone, it's leisurely yet tense pacing sees to that, but for those looking to utilize their gray matter some when digesting a horror film, you'll find a lot to dig about it." Timecrimes (aka Los Cronocrímenes) is both written and directed by Spanish filmmaker Nacho Vigalondo, who is making his big screen debut here after directing and acting in numerous shorts, including the Oscar nominated 7:35 in the Morning. The film first premiered at the Fantastic Fest last year and has since gone on to play numerous film festivals. Magnet Releasing is distributing Timecrimes and it will hit limited theaters sometime in late 2008 or early 2009 - stay tuned!

this movie might go direct to dvd, but I've seen it and trust me, Its on hell of an inventive movie. Its how to make an amazing movie with not much budget, it just plain brillant. It's really really good.

Time Crimes reminds me of the film PRIMER. That film really makes you use the gray matter.

The low budget + time travel aspect reminds me of "Primer," which was a good movie, except the plot sucked. This one looks a little too much like "Timecop" or countless movies and TV shows where somebody goes back in time to stop the assassination of Lincoln.
While guys running around in Darkman masks is creepy, it's highly apparent it's his own self.
Looks like they get a lot of cheap location shooting by doing it in forest-y areas, and the outdoors in general.
But you can blend time travel and a low budget, as long as you have an engaging story. Time travel itself is damn interesting, and the conventions of film narrative lend a lot to time travel stories.
The trailer gives away too much, though.

Real6: yeah, there have been times. did I say otherwise? No I didn't. How is it ignorant to say that the visuals of the film look like shit? I didn't say the movie was going to be bad, just that the quality of the visuals were. You sound quite stupid saying something like that. Think before you post something next time, if possible.
