Paul Blart: Mall Cop Trailer

Sony has unleashed the epic new trailer for Paul Blart: Mall Cop. This is a vast improvement over the viral video that we posted a few months ago, but it still looks painfully bad. This is one of the few films that I really think looks awful. Just think about that concept - a group of highly organized "crooks" take over a mall? When was the last time that ever happened?! Kevin James ironically looks quite funny, but this trailer does not. I'm sure I'll get a lot of crap for saying that, but it's just my impression. In case you couldn't already tell, Paul Blart: Mall Cop is about a security guard played by Kevin James. Enough said!

Paul Blart: Mall Cop is directed by Steve Carr, of Next Friday, Dr. Dolittle 2, Daddy Day Care, and Are We Done Yet? previously. The screenplay was co-written by actor Kevin James, Nick Bakay ("The King of Queens"), and Steve Pink (High Fidelity). Sony Pictures is releasing Paul Blart: Mall Cop early next year on January 19th, 2009. I know I'll be seeing Ninja Assassin in theaters instead.

Looks like one of those classic 90s "comedy" flicks.
ugh.
I thought we were over that period of time. All this movie needs is a 10 year old running around as a sidekick. Maybe in the sequel…ghaaa

yeah, I don't think so.

The only way a Happy Madison movie is anywhere near good anymore is if it has Adam Sandler in it.
This may be mildly entertaining though, who knows

Only reason I'd see that movie is because I used to work at that mall.

Die Hard for fat guys.

it looks fun, a spin on Die Hard that doesnt take anything seriously. I think people need to sit back and not take things like films too seriously. not every movie needs to be life affirming, mind blowing or thought provoking.

Some funny moments in that trailer that yes require no thought but to vegitate and chuckle at times and isnt that great ? This looks the perfect sunday morning get over hangover by staying in bed and watching something to take it easy too.

So come on enjoy things for no other reason than easy to watch and laugh too.

Looks like a flick tailor made for but rejected by Larry the Cable guy! Yikes! Good to hear Bon Jovi's "Livin' on a Prayer" though. I'll certainly be catching this flick on DVD!

wait wait, isnt Observe and report, the new movie with Seth Rogen, the same thing?

Note: Most all the "bad guys" are actual extreme sports athletes…(skateboarding/bmx etc).
Get ready for some gratuitous unneeded bike tricks and tail slides.
There goes half the movie.

He was fat enough to become a real cop.
Mmmmm doughnuts.

I like Kevin James, but Fat guy Slapstick is not his forte. This trailer definitely shows that.

@14 - probably from all those execs who think a kids movie can't exist without some sort of snowboarding scene in it (no matter what the setting - snow, jungle, desert, cityscape…).

Half of what will make this movie funny is the title.

After that, all bets are off.

it doesn't look like a good movie at all. but it looks ok to watch for some funny visual gags. and sometimes, that's ok. i'm on netflix, and it'll probably find my save list.

I know I shouldn't laugh at this because it may be one of the worst movies of next year, but you can't tell me that you didn't laugh when the dog got run over by the segway.

Paul Blart? Oh I get it, it rhymes with Target. No wait, that isn't it. Dangit. I had it all figured out when I started typing, but now I've lost the thought. I must have lost a brain cell or two watching the trailer.

when was the last time a group of robots came to earth and duked it out? it's a movie for crying out loud. if you wanted reality take your ass outside and walk around.

Tony on Oct 17, 2008

Anyway,it's too bad Kevin James is relegated to stuff like Mall Cop. At least we can watch him in syndication. The King Of Queens had some classic moments. Doug fighting a waitress, trying to ride a stubborn mule, beating up on Arthur's safety partner,Carrie beating on Doug in a clown costume!!! Just to name a few.

Tony on Oct 17, 2008
