Martyrs Director Pascal Laugier Circling Hellraiser Remake?

There's been talk of a Hellraiser remake for ages, but it's one of those projects that seems to never actually get off the ground and move into production. Previously, Alexandre Bustillo and Julien Maury of the French horror film Inside were attached, but they have since moved on to direct Halloween 2 for Dimension. Now out of nowhere, the horror aficionados at Bloody Disgusting have learned that another new French director is in the running for the gig. Pascal Laugier, of the highly praised French horror film Martyrs (that's due out on DVD sometime next year), is who they've heard The Weinstein Company is interested in.
We've been neglecting quite a bit of important horror news recently, so in order to catch up on all the news and in honor of Halloween arriving in the next few weeks, I thought we'd cover this Hellraiser story. Plus, I know there are a lot of fans of Clive Barker's original 1987 movie, and although remakes aren't always the best idea, I think Hellraiser could be the kind of remake that pushes the boundaries of horror yet again (just as the original did). I didn't see Martyrs, but I've heard plenty of great things. Plus, bringing French directors over to Hollywood is actually a good idea - they just need to give them the greenlight!

I think it might actually be good, as long as they dont try to make it like a snuff film

Man if its got Pinhead in it im there…. "We have such Wonderfull things to show you" Yuuuuk man feaky shit i saw the originall when i was like 9 and the scene when i think Frank comes out of the blood stained bed is frigging awesome very low fx but soo scarey man you can smell the rot in that scene.. Ive got goose bumps. Love it… They should B movie it and give the film and the acting the same sort of filth you see on screen and shoot it grainy and dirty with 1987 equiptment lol…
