Zac Efron's 17 Again Trailer Debut

Wouldn't it be great to one day wake up as Zac Efron? That's what 17 Again is all about. Rid yourself of all that High School Musical hatred and try to enjoy this trailer for what it is. Because in essence, this is about Chandler from "Friends" suddenly turning into Zac Efron, whose best friend is Lt. Jim Dangle from "Reno 911!" and his ex-wife, who he tries to get back together with, is Judd Apatow's wife Leslie Mann. When you think about it like that, you might be able to enjoy this just a bit more. It doesn't really look good, but it doesn't really look bad either. I know we can expect this to be in front of every print of High School Musical 3 this weekend. Anyone want to bet that he makes out with his daughter at some point in the movie?

17 Again is directed by Burr Steers of Igby Goes Down and a few TV episodes previously. The screenplay was written by Jason Filardi, of Bringing Down the House and Drum previously. New Line Cinema / Warner Brothers is debuting 17 Again in theaters everywhere on April 17th, 2009. Will you be there?

this doesnt look half bad except for the fact that "Chandler" looks nothing like zach efron. other wise looks like some funny stuff in places. not to mention leslie mann is always good.

i think it looks pretty good! it was also pretty funny in places, too. hope it does well!
lol i don't usually watch movies right away, and I don't watch that many movies in theaters, so I doubt I will "be there" the first day it opens, but we'll see :).

You know… even as a Zac Efron hater… I have to say, this does look pretty good…
In fact, I plan on seeing it when it comes out.
Unlike the HSM movies, Zac Efron actually has a rather good group of supporting actors.
Hold on… Is it just me or did it look like Zac was falling for his "daughter"??????
Wow… that's be… interesting? No… more like disturbing…

Zac looks like he'll do a lot better than I expected.

But the driving point of the movie is still yet to be seen. To be perfectly honest, I don't see how this is going to help the guy in the long run by having a "do-over", unless of course it follows the cliche "big-reveal" at the end where they all realize their dad was cool after all.

Then all the teenage girls will leave the theatre because Zac grew up again.

I think this will be a good film…Zac Efron will not get typecast as the industry will try to do…he's done other roles besides the HSM trio…I had a few laughs and can't wait to see the rest of the movie…Since he's playing the dad role…I don't think he'll fall for the daughter…that would be disturbing…he's trying to win his wife and family back.

I honestly don't know what's wrong with me, but I'm seeing some very disturbing potential in this movie…
Lessee, we've got:
Zac Efron's daughter falling in love with him
Zac Efron's ex/estranged wife falling in love with the 17 year-old version of him
Zac Efron's son falling for him
and finally…
Any combo of the three happening, from which conflict arises

Fun times all around!

I think it looks alright. Not amazing but let's face it, most teen movies aren't. And I'm glad Zac is finally going to be in a movie that doesn't involve song and dance.

Bottom line, even if it sucks, it won't suck as much as HSM.

I think he's moving up in the world.
