Interesting New Trailer for Sam Mendes' Revolutionary Road
November 14, 2008

by Alex Billington
A rather interesting trailer for Sam Mendes' Revolutionary Road has popped up over on Variety today. Coming off of the Watchmen trailer from yesterday, this is a much more subdued and mellow look at one of this year's most anticipated upcoming dramas. I'm still not sure whether it's going to be anything really amazing or just a good solid drama - that has yet to be seen. However, early reports have been saying that "Revolutionary Road is a tremendously impressive emotional drama, cleverly put together, beautifully composed, and nicely edited." With that said, take a look at this brand new trailer for Revolutionary Road.
For those looking to know more about the actual song in the trailer, it's sung by Cat Power. The song in it is her cover of "Sea Of Love" from her album The Covers Record. Enjoy!
Watch the trailer for Revolutionary Road:
Revolutionary Road is directed by Oscar winning director Sam Mendes, of American Beauty, Road to Perdition, and Jarhead previously. The screenplay was written by Justin Haythe, of The Clearing previously, and is based on a book of the same name written by legendary author Richard Yates. Paramount is debuting Revolutionary Road in limited theaters starting on December 26th later this year.

Great little trailer, I like how they used that Juno song… Sea of Love or something. Going to be really good, love the book and have a lot of confidence in Sam Mendes and the cast especially.

FIX THAT RECORD PLAYER… the repeated REMIX was killing me….
haha… but really.. I am looking forward to it despite my disdain for DiCaprio(except for Gangs of New York and The Departed)

Up to today although I am a BIG fan of Kate Winslet, I wasn't putting any money on this film.
Thanks for the trailer. It gave me chills. Even DiCaprio acting. Will be one of the five nominees. And have the potencial to beat out Australia.

I think they're gonna knock this one out of the park. It'll be a fucking downer, but it'll be great.

so…its Basically like Mad Men the movie? Atleast thats how I see it, but if it is, man it'll be awesome. Either way the trailer was good, and looking at the director, Im expecting a great film.

Good idea, but found it very poorly executed. THE STRANGERS trailer with the similair concept is a good example of whatr this could have been.

Wow. DiCaprio really hates all solid objects in this film. The items on the desk. The chair. Potentially Kathy Bates. I'm interested in the project, but so far the trailers are not doing it for me.

The repeating track is a cool little addition to the trailer, just like the two of them are stuck in a rut, really excited

I remember seeing this trailer before W. and was both startles and amused by its anachronistic stupidity. I find it is so ridiculously over the top with its showcase of multiple scenes where the couple just goes all out oscar bait hyperdrama ballistic with each other over the simple fact that they're living in suburbia. Okayyyyyyy.
