Download This: Slumdog Millionaire's Official Soundtrack!

If you've already seen Danny Boyle's Slumdog Millionaire (if not, make an effort to do so right away) you'll know that one of the best parts of the film is its score and music selection. If you've been wondering about it ever since, then you're in luck, as the soundtrack has officially hit iTunes and can be downloaded digitally right now. It features a total of 13 songs composed by A.R. Rahman, a musical legend in India. It's energetic and upbeat and just as exciting to listen to out of the context of the movie as it is to hear them within it. Cheers to Danny Boyle for putting together one of the best soundtracks of the entire year.
My own two favorite songs are the first one, "O… Saya", that is used when the kids are playing cricket and while they're chased through the slums; and "Jai Ho", which is the song during the big dance number that shows during the credits. If that song doesn't make you want to get up and dance with the entire cast as well, then you have no heart. If thinking about either of those just made you excited to listen to this, then stop hesitating and go download it now! I'm not really a fan of Bollywood at all, but this soundtrack and this movie are the first time I've ever really fallen in love with something very Bollywood. Enjoy!

Alex,
Incidentally A.R. Rahman has produced a whole bunch of very fascinating music.
If you liked his work you should check out his past work too.

A.R.Rehman is phenomenally talented his compositions are a rare blend of western influences and indian sensibilities…i saw the theatre production of LOTR in london and the music was BRILLIANT.. his compositions have been used in both "the inside man" and moulin rogue (the songs called hindi sad diamonds)
not only does he compose brilliant music he also is a very good singer himself…
