Sundance and YouTube Present Project: Direct!

Sundance is pretty much heaven for film lovers. If you've always wanted to go but haven't been able to make the trip, Sundance and YouTube are hosting a contest called Project: Direct. All you need to do is create a five minute or less short film using three props, one of which has to be a red telephone, and submit it to YouTube by December 14th. The winner will receive a trip to Sundance in January where the film will be screened, they'll meet with the Sundance Director of Programming, and have their film included on a DVD given to execs. I found out about this because filmmaker and friend Darren Aronofsky is the spokesperson for the contest - so check out his intro video below and get to work on a short film!
More details, rules, and a list of props to choose from can be found on YouTube.
If anyone makes a short film and submits it (and/or wins) - be sure to let us know! I'm a big supporter of young, creative filmmakers and hopefully we'll see some great short films as part of this. Who knows, maybe the next Steven Spielberg or Darren Aronofsky could be out there just waiting for an opportunity like this? In addition to the trip to Sundance, you'll also get $2500 if you win, so spare no expense and go all out! This contest seems like a great idea and I'm even more excited to see Aronofsky himself promoting it. If anyone makes it out to Sundance this year, let us know, maybe we can catch some drinks one night!

I'm gonna do my best to enter into the contest, I already have an interesting idea, half the script is written already and we'll hopefully be shooting by Sunday! Looks like an incredible opportunity.
