Snakes on a Plane's David Ellis Helming Six Days Till Midnight

David R. Ellis

Snakes on a Plane director David R. Ellis is heading from one "high-concept B movie" to another. Ellis will direct a project called Six Days Till Midnight, a thriller about a wealthy businessman who encounters a stranger who says he has six days to answer one question. For each day he doesn't get the answer, a loved one will be killed, ending with the businessman's death at the end of the sixth day. "I've been doing high-concept B movies, and this is the best script I've been associated with, a thriller with a great twist," Ellis told Variety. Will he finally make a good movie? With that concept, I certainly hope so!

To be fair, I actually enjoyed the hell out of Snakes on a Plane. Ellis was a stuntman before moving on to direct Final Destination 2, Cellular, Snakes on a Plane, and the upcoming Final Destination 4. Six Days Till Midnight is a $25 million independent project that is set to start shooting in April. Newcomer Mark Bacci penned the script. No other details have been revealed, but from that concept alone, you can consider me very interested. I really hope David R. Ellis does a great job, because I want to see this turn out as something entertaining and unique, not just another throwaway movie likes his past few films.

David R Ellis is a great underrated action director who is much better than a lot of the bigger name action directors - the opening car crash scene in Final Destination 2 is excellent and he shot most of the brilliant freeway chase from Matrix 2. Cellular was also a cool little thriller with a sense of humour so I'm looking to both this new film and Final Destination 4!

#2. I think him dying is what WILL happen if he doesn't answer the question.

This plot sounds familiar.
