Another Terminator Salvation Photo + Interesting T4 Poster

LA Times writer Geoff Boucher has a first look today at a new photo from Terminator Salvation, which is pretty cool to see, but nothing new compared to all that we got in that new trailer yesterday. In addition to the photo, some sort of odd T4 poster showed up on their site, too, although I've got a feeling it's not official and just a fan made poster instead. Primarily because Warner Brothers made damn sure that this is called Terminator Salvation and has no major connection to the past trilogy. "I absolutely think the film has the chance to be great, an opinion formed when I visited the set, watched quite a bit of footage and spent time talking to the cast and director McG about the premise and tone of the film." Check it out.
Click the photo below to see it much bigger. The scene is one where John Connor enters the factory where the Terminators are being made, which is apparently one of the pivotal scenes in the film.
Terminator Salvation is directed by McG, of Charlie's Angels and We Are Marshall previously. The script was written by writing duo John D. Brancato and Michael Ferris, of Into the Sun, The Net, The Game, and Terminator 3 previously. This marks the return of the Terminator franchise after Terminator 3 in 2003. Terminator Salvation arrives in theaters next summer on May 22nd, 2009. Stay tuned for more!

The poster you posted is fanmade. Another thing you should know is that Brancato and Ferris wrote the first draft of the script, while Jonathan Nolan and Shawn Ryan are the ones who are really responsible for the final product.

#3 Just continuing on with ucb91's point. Apparently the original script was one of the reasons why Christian Bale did not want to sign on. He said that he wanted something that could stand alone without the action and the first draft of the script just didn't have that. SO…..
Enter Jonathan Nolan, "The Prestige, The Dark Knight etc." (brother of Christopher Nolan) and Shawn Ryan, "The Unit, The Shield etc.", and well…you can see the results.
We must give these guys credit too.

Paul Haggis (Crash, Million Dollar Baby, Casino Royale) is also being credited on IMDB for writing as well….just a great overall collaboration

What's starting to sink in for me regarding T4 is that they're really putting the exoskeletons front and center and not focusing as much on their star, Christian Bale.
I think that's smart. Because we've only really gotten a sample of what the Terminators do in a combat situation and it's such a cool visual element, it makes sense to promote them.

*sigh*
Any good vibes I keep getting regarding this film always get squashed out a little bit everytime someone says the words "director McG".
