First Teaser Trailer for Pixar's Up!

It's not much, but it's here, the first official teaser trailer for Pixar's Up. For audiences that have never been introduced to Pixar's next adventure, or the character that it's all about, it's a great little introduction. Unfortunately we still don't know know much about where it'll go next (once he lands where he's going), but I still can't wait to find out. The character of Carl Fredricksen is being voiced by Ed Asner and is inspired by Disney legends Frank Thomas and Ollie Johnston. I'm so excited to finally be back in the swing of things with the next big Pixar movie, because I love everything they do and can never patiently wait for more.

The film is co-directed and written by Bob Peterson, who wrote Finding Nemo previously. Disney is planning to debut up in theaters everywhere on May 29th, 2009 next summer. Anybody notice that "Boo" from Monster's Inc and Elastigirl (and the daughter) from the Incredibles made a cameo? Pretty cool.

Luke Foust on Nov 7, 2008

looks great.

troy on Nov 7, 2008

How do those people always seem to capture my imagination. It is unreal.

Red Buttons on Nov 7, 2008

Um I didnt see any cameo...of course I have bad vision so that might be it...

Maxx on Nov 7, 2008

wee! looks fun. 🙂 and those weren't cameos, that was the teaser going "this is what awesome things pixar has already done... now time for more."

dave13 on Nov 7, 2008

So excited!!

SillySil on Nov 7, 2008

I might consider it on tv.

RSH on Nov 7, 2008

I still have no idea where they are going with this movie suspense!

Chris W on Nov 7, 2008

@ 10. Duh. They're going UP!

Derek on Nov 7, 2008

@ 3........ Are you retarded?

Richard on Nov 7, 2008

i think elastic girl is the woman looking in to the shop glass w/ sunglasses on.. not to sure who boo is though

Brandon on Nov 7, 2008

this looks really funny.

Darrin on Nov 7, 2008

I really can't say anything from this, apart from the obvious and that it's gonna look awesome!

sng. Sheep on Nov 7, 2008

So how does the boy scout end up on his porch in the air? He wasn't there when the house lifted off the ground...

Matt on Nov 7, 2008

Looks as good as it did at Comic-Con. I like it more now, the idea and direction of the film. Much more pensive than any of pixar's previous work.

Keith on Nov 7, 2008

"Hi Mr. Fredrickison, please let me in!" "No." I like it, hopefully another Wall-E

Xerxex on Nov 7, 2008

I like it. It is original i can tell you that. I Like the part that Xerxex said. I laughed.

Daniel F. on Nov 7, 2008

I don't know about the other two cameo's, but at 1:05 you can see the "Pixar ball" (which has appeared in everything since the original Luxor short) on the floor in the girl's room as the house floats up above the buildings. Otherwise, it looks like it could be quite good ... still lots of unknowns, which is a nice change in today's "tell you (almost) everything" idea of a teaser. Also, lots of time 'til May, so who knows what else they'll tease before then.

EricR on Nov 7, 2008

I liked Wall-e, but that is down there with cars...which sucked. Wall-e didnt really draw me in, but hey i am 17 lol. Hopefully this will be better

alex on Nov 7, 2008

Pixar's done land, sea and space but air...wonder where they'll take it

Jaf on Nov 7, 2008

This looks hilarious. I've been convinced.

jman571 on Nov 7, 2008

Pixar did it again!!! looks fantastic!

paulina on Nov 7, 2008

WALL-E was awesome, it set pixar's standard even higher (if that's possible). This movie looks good, it better be, because it has a ton of pressure riding on it having to follow Wall-E.

john on Nov 7, 2008

Haha, looks interesting.. Grouchy old man leaves town.. Boy Scout makes him realise people aren't so bad after all?

John on Nov 8, 2008

w o w

twispious on Nov 8, 2008

Haha! Nuff said.. :p

Deepak T on Nov 8, 2008

looks great!

dRailer on Nov 8, 2008

Hope its not as bad as Wall e

dac_fan on Nov 8, 2008

Wall-E was a winner and so this one.

Phizik on Nov 8, 2008

Pixar movies make me so happy! Im so excited.. is that bad being that im 22 and and being more excited than a 5yr. old? U guys seem pumped too.

big r on Nov 8, 2008

I don't see Boo. Neat idea for a movie, though.

JTS on Nov 8, 2008

One thing: If it was 2D, it would remind me a bit of a Miyazaki-type story. Potentially anyway.

Vegeta on Nov 8, 2008

I have been waiting and waiting and waiting for SOMETHING! Thank you Alex. Thank you so so much

clamson on Nov 8, 2008

i wonder if pixar will make a movie with photo realistic people and places. just to show how good their tech is.i do like their style though. awesome looking movie. Pixar seems to never run out of good ideas and story's.

john on Nov 8, 2008

Looks funny & original ! And this is a PIXAR ! so I'm in!!! 😀

Florian on Nov 9, 2008

(32) big r, I'm with you. I am a very big Pixar fan, and realize how much work and time go into making a Pixar film. It's amazing! (21) alex, grow up and learn to appreciate the art of film. Every Pixar film to date has been completely incredible. Yes, even Cars. Out of curiosity, what didn't you like about the movies?

Jeremiah on Nov 10, 2008

Feels like the creators are going for a "Howl's Moving Castle" story-type, which is not surprising since Pixar often looks to Hayao Miyazaki for inspiration.

Noemi on Nov 10, 2008

Oh yes! So excited! I've never been disappointing with any of Pixar's films and Up looks SO amazing! Even with so little seen and known about it! They have me sold. I am extremely disappointed though that Newt is being pushed back a year just so Cars 2 can come first. I'm sure I'll enjoy both, but just the idea of Newt sounds so great.

Aaron on Nov 10, 2008

Lol, this kind of reminds me of Howl's moving castle... or at least I can see the influence. Should be interesting. Love the sequence with the kid outside of the door... his gestures are really great.

Aru on Nov 12, 2008

"UP" looks really cool - i'm 62 years old and i LOVE animation, maybe because it was so lame when i was a little kid!! my 30 year old son is even more anxious to see it than me, but my 18 year old grandson doesn't want to go because "it's for kids"

mini on Nov 13, 2008

that was fricken hilarious!!!

blake b on Nov 13, 2008

Pixar definitely has strong influences from Miyazaki, considering that the team responsible for the lovingly prepared and reverent dubs of the Studio Ghibli films for domestic release is a combination of Disney and Pixar animators. Even though I've decided my career aspirations no longer lie with writing for Pixar, this looks like yet another film that may make me a bit wistful about my change of heart. Their films are all just so moving and well-written. It's an amazing studio, and I'm glad Disney came to its senses and is giving John Lasseter a much larger role in the company.

Lady Aerin on Nov 14, 2008

Finally a trailer! And a funny one at that! I'm more intrested in the movie now! 🙂 Hopefully Pixar won't let me down! They probaly won't since the movie's called "UP"!

Catz2 on Nov 19, 2008

I can't wait to see the movie UP. I promise you. I'll watch it with my dad he says we can really watch the movie UP. The trailer is soooooo funny. HA HA HA HA HA HA!

Alexis on Nov 23, 2008

Funny and AWESOME animation! Thumbs UP

Louis on Dec 1, 2008

Saw the trailer when I saw Bolt... I was cheering by the end of it. rofl

Aaron on Dec 2, 2008

I'm going to watch it naked while twisting my junk "up" in a little ball.

Jimmy Pniss on Dec 5, 2008

Pixar movies give me a boner. (I'm laughing out loud but I choose not to use the LOL typology like the rest of you ass munchers). This movie is yet another pile of shit that audiences gobble up because they can't believe how cool the animation is and how cool another burnt out celebrity offered their voice for a cartoon character. Maybe you guys should get a real "Woody" and go "Find a Nemo" to put in. You might just enjoy it more and come out of your dark place.

Jimmy Pniss on Dec 5, 2008

Jimmy stop being an idiot. I only know 1 voice from almost all the Pixar movies. I don't look up their voices. I just love the movies.

Aaron on Dec 6, 2008

only funny part was when the kid ask to be let in

neonblue on Jan 14, 2009
