Unfunny Mall Cop Viral Video with Kevin James

The first immensely unfunny viral video for the upcoming Mall Cop movie has been unearthed. In the movie, Kevin James stars as mall security guard Paul Blart and when the mall is overtaken by a gang of organized crooks, it's up to him to save the day. We've neglected to ever mention Mall Cop before today because I much prefer the Seth Rogen mall security comedy Observe and Report instead. And this video proves how terribly unfunny and unentertaining this version will be. The only enjoyable part of watching this was all the cool skating footage at the beginning, and the moment Kevin James steps in, it's instantly boring. This really looks like it'll be the worst comedy since Delta Farce, so don't waste your time.

Paul Blart: Mall Cop is directed by Steve Carr, of Next Friday, Dr. Dolittle 2, Daddy Day Care, and Are We Done Yet? previously. The screenplay was co-written by actor Kevin James, Nick Bakay ("The King of Queens"), and Steve Pink (High Fidelity). Sony Pictures is releasing Paul Blart: Mall Cop early next year on January 19th, 2009. I know I'll be seeing Ninja Assassin in theaters instead.

Is it just me, or is this video ancient? I'm pretty sure my brother showed me this at least a month or two ago, though I had no idea it was related to any upcoming movies. Anyway, I personally didn't think it was very funny, but I'll reserve judgment until I at least see a trailer.

honestly I dont think it is enough to even start assuming how good the movie is...it almost looks like a video about Mike Vallely than the Mall Cop Kevin James...and anyone who has watched Kevin James standup knows how funny he actually is...I am not one to go see comedies in the theatres very much unless it is on the level of Pineapple Express or Tropic Thunder so this will probably be a rental...

what happened to Kevin James career. I have to admit that I NEVER find him funny though. :-/ Maybe if is was Steve Carell as the mall cop it'd be a little funnier. He played a rent-a-cop in this teenie bopper movie "Sleep over" and it was pretty funny the scenes with him.

actually I was reading comment 16 and I AGREE whole heartily with him. It would have been much funnier if after he spray painted him he went from nerd to dumping the kid in a trash bin. It would have been pretty funny if he kicked the kids ass. (just cause its not expected.) like if he went all hulk without the changing...nice mild mannered "Paul" to angry "Mr. blart" the ass kicking security guard..

Not even going to bother watching this video. I watched many many episodes of his tv show, and I saw him in Hitch and saw his stand-up special. And not once did I so much as chuckle at anything he said or did. One of the unfunniest successful 'comedian/actors' I know of. He and Pauly Shore should be banished to a deserted island with their piles of ill-gotten money and left to rot.

I saw an early test screening last Tuesday, and the crowd LOVED it! Much, much funnier than the viral video. This video kinda drags, but the movie is tight throughout, with lots of funny jokes and great sight gags. It might not be high art, but it was funny.

I think he's doing a pretty good job of acting the part of a mall security guard. If I didn't know who Kevin James was, I'd be convinced. Who cares if this one video wasn't funny? Are you gonna go ahead and judge the movie based on a little two minute video you saw on the internet? Did anyone see Chuck and Larry? Give the guy a chance. At least they aren't pulling out all the stops in the preview only to pull the rug out from under your feet when you actually see the movie. Ever had that experience? Where the best parts of the movie are shown in the trailer and you think it will totally kick ass and then you see the movie and you want to blow chunks?

Alex Billington You are a dousche bag watch the whole movie before you post an opinion like that, kevin james is the man when it comes to comedy and at the very least you need to give this movie a chance and let people form theyre own opinions on it before shooting it down so badly. if skating is what youre into then watch a jackass CKY video you cant degrate a movie based on the preview alone i thought it was pretty good and clearly so did a few more people here, and thats only those who decided to post about it so next time maybe keep your opinion to yourself,

Kevjohn you are also a dousche bag, if you dont find at least something funny about kevin james in all those things you watched of his then you have no sense of humor and no right to watch much less criticize anything comedy. if youre not a kevin james fan what were you doing watching all those episodes of king of queens, hitch and his stand up act? is youre whole MO just to hate on people? how can you even compare him to pauly shore, any reasoning or just not creative enough to explain why you dislike him? ive watched this vido a couple times now and from what i can tell it doesnt really show anything about what the movie itself is or could be, so i dont see why anyone can try to sink it so badly at this time. give it a chance people!

one more thing people, stop affiliating this with steve carrell. kevin james has his own style and this video shows none of it so dont expect this movie to be at all like this trailer. he does his own thing, not imitate steve carrell

Brad Murphy, what you have just wrote here in these three posts is far, far funnier than anything Kevin James has ever done. For the record I watched several episodes of King of Queens for Leah Remini and Patton Oswald (they weren't worth it), Hitch for Will Smith and Eva Mendes (also not worth it), and KJ's standup out of sheer boredom (it didn't help alleviate the boredom one bit).

This doesnt look too bad. I got a few laughs outta this teaser. Its not like the cam quality is what its like on this teaser? They obv have it filming through the eyes of a digitial camera, but then switch it during the movie. You guys suck for judging it already.

Thanks Travis, im glad you agree and now that the actual trailer has come out on tv and all i think it proves my point that this trailer here wasnt the best representation of the movie and now these people can start to come to informed opinions about the film

WOW. horrible video, horrible trailer, kj is hilarious (king of queens, his standup, chuck and larry, even decent in hitch) but this movie is clearly for people under the age of 13 and there's nothing wrong with that. but to me there's no way i could possibly sit through it. haha, he's fat, haha he's sliding across the floor, hey look he's on one of those dorky segway things haha. PERSONALLY not my kind of humor.

Mike, its not a trailer its a Viral internet video, its meant to get buzz going before a trailer is even released, its not an actual trailer for the film. I think Kevin James is Funny, He's out shined by Arthur in King of queens, but that show is great, I liked Hitch aswell, Chuck and larry however was the worst Adam Sandler movie I've ever seen and I am a Sandler Fan.

Took the grandchildren 8, 12, 13, 14, 15, and they all loved it. Just enough action for me and it was good to see the good, just average guy. win the day. We all need make believe, and tha's what movies are suppose to be!!!!!!
