Champions Trailer

Our friends at Twitch have debuted a trailer for a Chinese kung fu movie called Champions. I thought it'd be great to step out of the ordinary today and feature a badass trailer for a kung fu film, especially one that looks this good. The film is about a wushu athlete who takes part in a tournament in order to represent China in a martial arts performance at an Olympic Games so as to win the heart of a girl who is a sprinter. What better way to impress a girl than with some kung fu?! Apparently the film features martial arts styles "ranging from Praying Mantis Boxing through Eagle Claw to Taichi." Maybe this will be awesome?

Champions is directed by Chinese filmmaker Tsui Siu Ming and stars Dicky Cheung, Wong Tsui Yu, and Debbie Goh. As far as we know, this doesn't have a US distributor yet, but it's expected to premiere in Asia in November this year. We can expect to hear more about this film after its release overseas, including possibly its eventual appearance here in America. For now, you can find out some more details via Twitch or just start telling you friends all about it and spreading the word. Does it look any good?

Not Bad. Great sound effects. Twitch is on point with Asian films and coverage.

This reminds me of Mortal Combat, but 1 trillion times more kick ass and better.

Looks like any other Chinese kung fu movies out there. You can't even tell what the movie is about.

That is literally one of the worst trailers I have ever seen in my life. The music was down right horrid, as was the editing. I had no idea what the story was, which should be explained through visuals more so than words. Was there anything good about that trailer? At all? I'm not going to check this post again so don't bother replying, but I mean, Jesus Christ I'm speechless.

for #4 (scar), Tony Jaa is doing Ong Bak 2. I saw the trailer on this website and it looks awesome. As far as this movie goes it looks okay but I have to agree that I'm also tired of wire-fu. Hopefully there's not too much of it.
